I'm not having any luck getting my dedicated server running. I have my router ports forwarded tcp/udp 30000-30004 to my PC.

I am also playing on the same PC the server is running on. Once the server is up and running it never shows up in the games to join list for me or my friend thats trying to connect. He is also unable to connect using my IP address and port. I cant connect using my own IP and port (is that even possible?) but I can connect using 127.0.0.1:30000.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the server. Tried using different ports but the result is still the same.

Here are the log files I get after a clean install. I started the server and gave it a few minutes to create the world then tried connecting the client with no luck. I shut the server down and started it up again and same results.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ic$4$,

    Couple of things to check,

Check your windows firewall. Make sure that the ports are allowed, as well as the applications (the dedicated server and the playfield server).

Check that your router doesn't have a firewall on it as well. I know you said you have the ports forwarded, but the server needs to be able to establish a session outbound on those ports as well to advertise who it is.

My money would be on the windows firewall.

    Cheers

    Thanks for your reply!

So I double checked the Windows firewall and made sure the programs for the client and server are both allowed and added the ports, incoming and outbound.
    Router firewall is disabled.

Still not showing up in the games list though and not able to connect directly by ip and port. I did notice in the client console that it says "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." Which sounds like a firewall thing but everything is open now.

Additionally I used whatsmyip port scanner and ports 30000, 30003 and 30004 all show open while the server is running. 30001-2 timeout., netstat shows nothing listening on those.

    :(
