I'm not trying to be disrespectful and I really like reading everyone's opinion even if differs from mine.
But... guys, this 1.0 stuff is all convention. Some time ago there was not even Early Access. Hell, some time ago there not even alpha phase.

Seeing as Windows 10 are having soooooo many buggy updates that break the SO entirely and even harm people's computers, here's a reminder that once a long time ago there was a Windows 1.0.

Just a food for thought. :)

EA is/was a caveat, "Buyer Beware - unfinished but playable". 56 months ago, it was just that. Back then, I was playing 10 -14 hours /day. I was totally addicted. I'm in rehab now, only playing a few hours a day, maybe not playing at all for a day or two. Just as @Cleff said, so many basic issues did not appear to be addressed.
To be fair, I have no idea what the team at Eleon are up against. I have had a couple of private communications with a few of them, though none lately.
What ever they call it, they seem to acknowledge that there is still more work to be done. I'm still having a good time. I'm building and tweaking more than playing "the Game", but having a good time just the same.
Now might be a good time for Eleon to take a break, regroup, read more of MY suggestions and come back to continue work on this awesome game.

I will now return to my regularly scheduled program.

    Not a great comparison.
I can see both sides of this discussion. For games, version 1 is classed as a 'released' game. Some of the new players may not look at this game as being 'released' material as there are too many bugs. Some on the other hand will be happy with the game. Everyone is different. Time will tell.

Agreed in part. Many 1.0 games are released with tons of bugs especially in the 1990s/2000s.
EGS is not broken in its core to not deserve a released tag. Sure, it's broken in parts, maybe lots of them, depending on people's expectations.

But you're right. It's hard to compare things. Even games. There are simpler ones with a handful of features which causes fewer bugs while there are games like EGS that tries to be many things at once with its complex systems and is more prone to bug infestation.

Has it already been brought to Eleon's attention that the avatar size glitch in fact...remains?

And it has nothing to do with spamming blocks that have seating. It's just something that happens when you get out of an SV sometimes.

Even if someone has reported it already... what keeps you from writing a Bug Report about it? The more Player send them in the easier is it for the Devs to squash this Bug.;)

I guess people thought I was kidding when I asked about the spamming. Just what are they talking about? I genuinely do not understand.

Unless, of course, it IS what I showed in my posts. (no smiley face, I really want to know.)

It was my impression they meant that if you keep spamming the use of the toilet rather than placing toilet blocks. So constantly sitting down, getting up, and repeat would cause it (or create a higher likelihood that you will see the glitch occur). Though don't take my word for it, I haven't tried it.

Or they're actually on the brink of starvation and only have toxic food, so they eat and use the toilet to get their health back up... maybe ?

Because if that's all what's left of Playing Empyrion... aahh...

A-a-h-h-h, I see! Okay, so it's like back in the old days when we had the suicide button. I once travelled halfway 'round the planet (much smaller back then) on foot with no food by repeatedly committing suicide. I guess that's why they got rid of that feature. Pity.

That, at least, makes some sense to me. I don't think I would have ever gotten it on my own.
    Thanks, @Kassonnade.

  13. They didn't get rid of it they just removed the button and made it a command instead of a button.
    Destroyme

Likely was done to prevent accidental presses or something like that.

  15. Instead of X for shield I remapped to Shift+X, and instead of Y for power I remapped to Shift+Y.
I have had zero accidental presses since I made those 2 changes.

    I think I need a password prompt when I press "Y", i.e:

"Are you SURE you meant to press that? Enter Password to confirm"

    :)

One thing that is irksome at times is the context of pressing the "y" key. i.e. I might be looking at the HV I just parked and got out of (Pressing "p" brings up its control panel) yet pressing "y" turns off the Base / CV I'm on / near instead. If it always applied to what I was standing on, that'd be fine, but sometimes it does apply to what I'm looking at. To give the flip side of my prior example. I might park my HV, get out - be standing on top of it and looking at it- hit "y" and the CV/ Base I'm on powers down, not the HV.

As using "p" (control panel) is far far more reliable in context - i.e. what you're looking at, not what you're nearer / on top of - I tend to use that then hit the power slider now.

    Scoob.

I don't fancy having to write a suicide note. It makes one sound paranoiac rather than just desperate.

    @EleonGameStudios

I just had a problem with the "original" config files. I opened the itemsConfig.ecf and changed some values for the pistol, then saved and closed the file. The game gave me an error on start, so I checked the ItemsConfig file again, and I saw that there were many "tabs" in there (273), so I copied my backup over the file (backup from last patch) and same error. So I checked files integrity with Steam and it replaced only the ItemsConfig as I expected. I opened it and saw these same 273 tabs in there.

I think that as long as we don't change anything in the file the game will not see this, but if we change anything it will give an error. I made a batch search & replace for all tabs (replaced with 4 spaces) and the game started no problem. When I opened the file again to check, everything was ok, so it's not caused by Notepad++ that would add these on opening the file, for example. Anyways my default settings are for yaml to replace tabs with spaces, so I am surprised to see all these tabs.

Did anyone else see this or can anyone else check his ItemsConfig.ecf and see if there are many tabs in there, mostly between items data blocks ?
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit : I just checked all config files and found "tabs" in 6 of them :

    Found 2 tabs in BlocksConfig.ecf (lines 2570 and 2629)
    Found 1 in Animations.ecf (line 4)
    Found 11 in Containers.ecf (Line 595, Line 642, Line 693, Line 714, Line 833, Line 1036, line 1068, line 1179, Line 1204, Line 1268, Line 1486 )
    Found 1146 in EClassConfig.ecf
    Found 1 in EGroupsConfig.ecf
    Found 354 in FactionWarfare.ecf

Some of these tabs were in the top part where they are used as spacing in the "informations" but most of them are in the data blocks themselves.

LOL the great tabs vs spaces debate rages on.

Problem being that Eleon is not apparently all on the same side of that debate.

    Which will absolutely wreck code.

One codebase, one style. Tabs or spaces - PICK ONE!!!
