I've searched the forums and YouTube for help on setting up a signal logic for the teleporter but haven't found anything that is basically a step by step. I've read there's a way to use a motion sensor with a time delay to shut it off once you zap out, but no clue how to do it. The power usage on these things is astronomical and I'm not spending my days grinding fuel to feed an inactive device that eats through fuel faster than my husband snarfs gummy bears.

I've worked with signal logic...setting it up for lights, doors, etc. but that's just simple stuff. And/Or circuits and time delay is something I haven't needed to work with previously.

Can anybody explain (in terms this old gal can grasp) how to set this up so that the teleporter shuts off when I zap out?

Thanks and stay safe out there!

You only need a simple signal logic for the Teleporter.
Put a Sensor above the Teleporter with a 1 wide beam down to the Teleporter. The go into the menu for the Teleporter and get it to Follow the Sensor.
It's set up pretty much the same as you do lights. No delay is needed last time I tested this for Single Player.

Yea, that was the thread I was referring to @Dinkelsen, but it seems to be a big kaffuffle as to whether it works or not. Sometime yes, sometimes no...on solar yes, on generator no.....it's messy. I don't want to build a little teleporter base, my home base is already crowded with a landing pad, a storage unit, etc. Besides, that only works for ground...if I teleport out of a CV what then? My CV will be dead in the water (figuratively speaking).

I thought I had read somewhere that somebody had solved this issue but I could be wrong. All the posts run together at 5am when I read them before work.

    Thanks anyhow.

@Spoon I read this as well but also read that the teleporter didn't realize the player was gone and stayed on.

I have used the motion sensor successfully to make the teleporter deactivate once not in the area of detection. Quite nifty, too. Even better is when I hook the shield device to the same sensor, so it deactivates the shield automatically for teleport, then raises them once I am gone. My friend (we play on the same server), made that little trick with the shield.

Your idea of adding the shield is great. Would you mind giving me the steps? I haven't played with signals other than the really easy ones so I can't quite figure it out. I've tried a number of ways but something is eluding me.
    Thanks in advance!

This is the same as when I want to make an SV door open when I get near it and close when I am not. Once I get home tonight, I will grab some screenshots to show what I mean.

Oh, oh, oh...I got it. Used a separate motion sensor, applied it to the same block area and inverted it. It was the inversion that I was missing cause it always wanted to turn on...instead of off.

    Thanks @Tarc Novar

You should not need to invert it, as it deactivates the shield when stepping on the teleport pad. After leaving, the shields raise again.

Also, I use the same sensor that the teleporter uses. No modifications beyond that.

Hmmm...when I used the same sensor it turned both on at the same time, and both off. Ah well, I got it going with your advice anyhow...thanks much.

Ack, looks like I misremembered the setting. I did indeed have the shield set to invert, so it would reactivate when I left the pad. Sorry about that!
