Is there a way to revert back to 1.1 from 1.5?

I'm playing through Steam and from my past gaming experience (7 days 2 Die) I was able to revert back to earlier versions of the game. I don't see a way to do that with Empyrion.

Is there a way to go back?

 

yes but not to 1.1, just to the latest of every big version. So 12.3 11.6 and so on down to 5.x

 

hmm now that steam updated my game I can not play on the server until they update it .. so if they have it set to delete my base after so many days of inactivity I'll lose all my hard work.. very disappointing

 

This is not the fault of Eleon, but the server owner. Contact said owner regarding issues.

 

Set Steam to update between 5am-6am or whenever you never play. Now if there is an update, always start Empyrion with a direct link to the .exe until you have verified that the server has updated. Once you have verified the server has updated, then update your game as usual.
