The harder you have to try to justify your position, the less worthy it is of holding. This derailment of the thread is sad. There are legitimate gripes with the game to be had but instead captain stubbed-his-toe won't stop text walling us.
Actually justifying my position is easy. So far, no one has argued against it, only insulted/dismissed it. Responding to every one of his absurd deflections one at a time was time consuming, but also easy. If he wants to stop derailling from evaluating my argument, an argument which is directly related to the title of this thread, he can do that at any time, but as he just said, he refuses to do it, once again for fake reasons of course. The language and attitude I have maintained through this entire thread has been analytical and emotionless. It appears you keep trying to project your own emotions on to me, but that is a cop-out. It neither addresses my argument nor does it advance one of your own.
It's 'fascinating' (not really) how long people can hold a Thread alive discussing over something that has happened almost 2 Weeks ago...
Hello Devs! I don't know if this is the right place to post sugestions but here we go: Once i sugested to change a bit the In game "server configuration" info there are things in there that are obsolete and no longger in usu and there are new things that could be there as valuable info for a player to choose the server to play or not: Things that are not important ATM at least to me: Playfield restart OFF line protection time (it should be fixed to every server) Anti griefe distance (it doesn't make sense if we have the anti griefe device to place in our base in order to not alow others to digg under it, if you put it you safe if you don't put it we can digg, use drone recycle, build and so on, once the device is destroyed by going inside we can also do it and thats it) Things important to add in order a player to choose wise: Mass & volume On/Off CPU On/Off Thrusters obstrution On/Off Permadeath On/Off (yes i'd like to see this feature in game if we die we have to start from zero and all our private or faction if only one player in faction stuff is turned to public) And one other thing please : Make some way for us to clear server history or at least the servers we tryed and didn't liked the setings. Again sorry if this isn't the right place to post this. Cheers B W
Hi I'm new here.... I recently discovered the game accidentally, about a month or so ago ... And what game, how did I not see it before? Personally, it has almost everything I wanted in a game of this type, I have even stopped playing my favorites "No Man's Sky" and "X4" and for me, however it is in its final version, it will be a great game. Yes ... it has errors, but I am not complaining because they are almost insignificant compared to the many hours that it will continue to entertain us. I've given my neighbor a copy and 100% of our free time has been Empyrion so far. It's like it catches you and then you fall in love and you don't want to be released ... Big Game ... 100/100 I just hope they never take away the Dedicated LAN Multiplayer server. And expand much more the content of Story Mode, which promises a lot ..... Thank you guys for creating this wonderful game.
You and your mate should check out scenarios, you can mod the game a lot already, make your own scenario even, create your own story just as you want it, but yes, very addictive game indeed !
A week ago we were playing with Reforged Eden, and it is great, thanks to this mod I am restoring the destroyed ship that we found in the polaris minefield ...
So now that you returned from vacation, will you honor your promise and publish a development plan and a feature list?
'' So we are currently trying hard to carve out a development plan and a rough “feature list” for the next content update after the version change '' Thats actually only talking about one update, literally, the next large one. I cant remember seeing anything about a road map at all after 1.0. Actually, they have never had one off memory, what they have done for about 5 years now is simply do a player survey, and about a month after thats done, release a rough list of features they expect to get done over the next 12 odd months, and they have done that many times. But we had a thread about this, ooooooo, few years ago see if I can find it, will link, but it simply was about the games roadmap, and how I cant remember who it was, had found a really awesome roadmap from another set of devs, that looked great on paper, but the real irony here, is the game this person chose, basically flopped it. The roadmap simply failed. And put far to much pressure on those devs, and those devs are very competent programmers, its not skill that caused the game to fizzle out. And the other thing about this example is its a Unity game, very very very similar to this one, block building voxel game set in space and on planets, well thats what it was slated for but only ever ended up being one planet, we are talking about Planet Nomads. I like that game, I still play it now and then, but it is but a shell of what it was slated to be with the first set of roadmaps....... Roadmaps are a very final sort of thing. Relates to peoples expectations. Eleon's , do a survey and let the people choose the roadmap or future update path has been very successful. But it is effectively a dynamic version of the same thing, a roadmap so to speak. Will Eleon do anymore surveys at that scale for such a thing I think is probably the better question. I dont know of any surveys coming up, does anyone else ? EDIT - found that thread, link - https://empyriononline.com/threads/proper-timeline-and-roadmap.13621/
This thread was a great read! Good to know, that almost nothing of importance has changed in the last 5 years. Devs added the galaxy, yeah. 5 years too late. Perhaps, the negative reviews will finally destroy the echo-chamber, that only creates illusions and harms the development. I guess, better later than never. Sad.
You must of ran into the wrong website there... I'm seeing a 91%+ Positive reviews on steam and 80%+ overall. Maybe this game is just not meant for you?
No, I came in to check the progress on purpose. Had no idea, that there was a version change and all that good stuff. Nobody has ever said, that there are negative reviews only. Disregarding that, overall, if 91% positive reviews are the thing you choose to focus on, then so be it. None of my business. Perhaps, but doubtful, as I am playng games in the "sci-fi space exploration" setting for over 20 years now. I've also been playing Minecraft on and off since the pre-alpha of Minecraft. Just as the EGS. The pattern of my gaming is the same.
Surely you noticed the trend where the actual "echo chamber" is the "negativity" one, with players patting themselves on the back for negative reviews and happily ignoring their own attempts to "destroy the game" with childish methods. And they do act like they run the office when they come here to "demand" things. Some players really got hit deep in their pride because the developers did not rapidly comply to their "orders" to make the game as they told them to. Coming to a forum, acting like an irate 12-years old and not expecting anyone to tell them to go play outside is also revealing. " I hit you with a stick, and you did not improve ? You bad bad bad. I hit you harder then. " Some people never learn... .
