i was wondering its been a few years since i looked back at the game i see that they are finally leaving early access so I was wondering is there going to be a console release any time soon the reason why I ask is because the Xbox series x releases soon and we have a space engineers port now along with many good survival games so now that its going to early access are we going to se it on console or is that not possible even with the next gen consoles

    Welcome to the forum mate.
While they no longer has the 'early access' sticker, the game is still being worked on. Many still class it as still being in 'early access'.
Personally, I can't see it being ported to consoles for a few years.... The game is not at that stage.

The current gen can't handle it. The next gen shouldn't have any issues.

If it were ever going to happen, it shouldn't be considered until the game is actually finished. Even though they left Early Access, they are still in Alpha development. 7 Days to Die developers made the mistake of allowing a port when TellTale approached them with the idea. Look at what a **** show that turned into. TellTale basically screwed everyone over on that one, and players are paying for it.

i completely agree however they could take the ark approach and go early access like they did and continue to work on it if that is not possible i really would like to see the game on console in a few years i hope either way I'm not concerned because i have it on pc its an amazing game it would be nice to see it come to next gen i do hope it gets the chance one day i think i would be very popular on there becase the is nto enough survival games out there esspeacally with a single player mode to chill and build in that if for sure

The problem with this is the rules of the console. Both Sony and Microsoft have rules that prevent developers from pushing an update that would break existing saves. Since that's a regular occurrence in Alpha development, most games don't get ported until they are finished. At best they'll have a Beta release as "Alpha" on the console for free with extremely limited access/playability.

I couldn't even begin to imagine trying to play something this complex with a controller. Sorry, but that's just a limitation of consoles.

I think that would be the easy bit. Most of the controls are just as standard game controls. You can then have sub-menu's for anything complicated. The 'crouch' function on the controller would be free to use though...

I think controlling things like block placement and rotation would be terribly cumbersome, as would things like circuit logic, and anything requiring precision. I largely avoid FPS-type games on consoles because the precision is completely lacking. I'm not saying a console version wouldn't be possible - NMS ported to PS4 quite well, though again, precision is very lacking and the game is awkward on console.

Meh. No Man's Sky is an exploration Game First. Space Combat 2nd. And ground combat (fps) 3rd. Not the best comparison imo. I would look more on Space Engineers and how they got their mess of a game on Xbox working (relatively) well.

Space Engineers... I have all of 9 minutes play time. It's the most terrible lack-of-a-game box of e-Lego I've ever seen. Got it for next to nothing on Steam. Maybe, some day, years from now, there will be some kind of game to play, and it's something else I think would be terribly cumbersome with a controller, especially an XBox controller, they're the 2nd worst since the N64 controllers.

When it comes to console controllers, Sony Dual Shock/Dual Shock 2 remain the best designed to date.
