    Hello all,

I've played this game for years now since early, early Alphas and love it dearly. A couple friends and I mainly play co-op PVE and have done so since early, early alpha. With all the updates to the game, mainly detectors and the hundreds of systems that are available, I have two suggestions.

First, the detector ping on a SV or CV should be visible to passengers in a vessel. Division of tasks is essential for operation of a CV or even a Large SV, and it is too much to dump on the pilot to conn the vessel, ping the detector, sight any threats over all bearings, and be ready to maneuver. By making the detector ping common to all members of the vessel it is possible to task one crewmate to take the duty of checking all bearings without the pilot having to Alt, look around, and temporarily lose tactile control of the vessel's heading.

Secondly, I believe warp target locks should carry over between SOI changes and be common for a vessel crew. This is good for the same reason as the first suggestion: it takes another task off the mind of the pilot and would allow for a crewmate to handle it and save precious seconds in an emergency.

This latter issue became apparent for me when myself and a passenger in a warp SV dropped out of warp very close to a Zirax corvette (about 1000m or so) and I had to maneuver to avoid getting hit while trying to open the map to lock a new warp point. This would have been less impossible to do if my passenger were able to set the target while I maneuvered.

These suggestions in my opinion are essential for proper manning of a CV or a large SV. Otherwise passengers are nothing more than baggage or a worse aiming system for attached armament turrets.

Currently, I don't intend to do MP, but I may get into CO-OP. I think your suggestions are most appropriate. Perhaps an occupiable NAV Station block that can be toggled "active" or not could be added.

I think that would be great. When it comes to a big vessel it's important to have division of tasks so the pilot doesn't lose their mind! I would love to see different consoles for NAV, weaps, detectors, etc. for the crew. It's all a bit much for a single pilot and I'd like to give my crewmates a meaningful task beyond just sitting in a passenger seat.

If we are going to have crew, then I want airlocks.

You cant have crew without an airlock to flush them out of when they prove to be complete idiots.

So what I'm hearing is that expanded crew usefulness is good, but on the condition that personnel guilty of being incompetent either be mulched into Soylent or shot into the cold vacuum of space. These both sound like great ideas. I mean grow plots are great, but if we're going to be ditching the radar officer because he missed a Zirax cruiser, we might as well pad food reserves while we're at it.
