Hi Guys , I still have a question about the loot boxes. I have set up loot boxes. Both normal containers and the alien "barrels". I've filled them with all sorts of useful things. After the last save, I spawned and placed the POI in creative mode in my survival game. Then I switched back to survival mode and flew to the base as normal. When I examined the loot containers, they were all empty. The containers are not coded with 0000 according to the instructions. they have no code at all. Do I have to save the loot separately somehow? Why is there nothing in the container when I set the POI? Did I miss something? Thanks for anwers
That is not how loot containers work, the content they have is determined at runtime during the game based upon a loot list The loot ID of each container is what you have on the right panel in the container configuration and what each of those IDs can spawn is identified in the file Containers.ecf in the game Configuration folder
oooops. that sounds very complicated to a blind rookie. Thank you for bothering to explain this to me. Is the "Containers.ecf" one static file ? or will it created in every new game? Is there already a list in plain text somewhere which loot items belong to which loot ID? If I want to make an effort, I would have to translate the whole list, or I just put in some matching numbers at random. Thats not my intension. How many ID's are there? 01 till 99 ? or more?
That file has the Loot IDs and what they contain, it's maintained by Eleon and is updated when you update your game every new patch so you can change it but will not be permanent and will not be the same for other players It's content is used directly by every SP game you play new or saved and you can find it in your game folder Configuration C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Content\Configuration...
Thanks so far. That means, if i build an POI and define lootboxes with Loot IDs , then it is not clear that every player will find what I have planned in the POI? right ? Edit says @ Jupiter that will be the only way to have espacily defined loot. right ? do I have to define the lockers somehow or do I just put the items in there?
If the loot ID is one of the standard ones you're cool, will always be the same unless said player edited the file on his side But take in consideration that every Loot ID number contains a list of items that are randomly assigned at runtime And NPCs spawned through spawners in POIs have also a Loot ID assigned that you can change
OK thank you. then it is clear now I will update my POIs. I don't know whether I have skipped it, but it would be helpful to be able to read this basic information in the "Knowledge and Information" section. Maybe it is written somewhere, but I have to laboriously translate / work out every text. So please excuse me if I missed it.
