    Hey all,

Wanted to share this to see if others are having the same issue...

I've just visited a POI on planet and want to return to my Base, which is also on planet. As my base is just over 16km away, I decide to pop into orbit to do the bulk of the trip - which is much easier these days due to map markers being visible from orbit. However, it didn't go as planned.

I'm flying my SV in the atmosphere, my base is just over 16km directly in front of me. I fly directly up into orbit and, instantly, my base is shown as just over SIX km to the left of me. That's odd.

Anyway, I turn 90 degrees to the left and thrust forwards and my SV launches its self directly UP! I stop, double check I'm pressing the right key (I am, "w" and "space" ain't gonna get mixed up lol) and check the auto-brake is enabled, it is. I thrust forwards again and, once more my SV shoots UP. This is weird. I angle about 45 degrees down - in essence facing the HUD marker for my base now - and thrust forwards once more. Yet again my SV just shoots upwards further into space. I have no control!

I've been into space previously on this start, and returned, without issue, but something has become badly broken here. Has anyone else experience these two bugs?

Are/is you base near one of the poles, what is your distance to planet? I think you are trying to enter the "nomansland" of the polar regions.

Base is on the equator, no where near the Poles. Seems to be a bug to me. I mean, it instanced me in the wrong place in orbit, having warped me several km closer to my destination while at the same time rotating me 90 degrees. Controls also did not respond as they should.

I've made many hundreds of trips into orbit and I've also often gone into orbit to facilitate travelling long distances over a planet. This is normal, every day gameplay. However, during this incident the game was basically behaving like something was broken.

I'm guessing others aren't experiencing this and I've not tried it since - only played a few minutes over the weekend - so I'll put it down to another random Empyrion gremlin.

Nope, no such issue. Unless you built the base near to the yellow "line", but myself I've never had issue with that either. I think your planet might have some unusual "geometry" or even unexpected gravity settings, and that's causing it.

Curious to know if it happens on a different/new planet for you now too.

Nope, a long way from the map join. Can't figure out why it does it at all. Very weird glitch.
