Game difficulty scaling options

    This game really needs difficulty settings to affect ship combat. For the most part this means amount of damage that non-player ships and POI weapons deal against player ships and bases.

    I thought about shields but it would have some effect for PvP, and shields can already be strengthened with config file. Although that might scale enemy bases shields too which is not ideal solution, somehow they too should be able to be made stronger for just players.

    But anyway, players vs AI faction ships combat has no PvP balance implications. I just hate shield cracker turrets that 1- or 2-shot your SV even if it has shields on the easy difficulty. Not to make any ultimatum but it's honestly a total gamebreaker that makes me not play this game at all, regardless of whatever else may be in the game. If you can't explore and progress in the game at all, who would actually continue playing it?

    Other annoyance in ship combat is extremely long range weapons from some faction ships in orbit. They can fire at you much much before you can actually see them approach you, and with 1 shot your CV is toast. Mechanics like that are just very lame. If you're already in their firing range your fate is pretty much sealed.

    Some areas are designed to be difficult while others are easier to take on, but if you really want you can change the damage and range with the Config.efc in the content folder

    Design is one thing, but why enforce same difficulty to all types of players, from newbies to experts alike?

    While damage and ranges can be adjusted for all weapons (player and enemies) what I found to be really game-changin is to slow down projectiles across the board. This makes bigger ships able to tank more and even try to avoid being hit too much, but mostly it allows small vessels ( SV/ HV) to finally become useful as they can get much closer to targets without being hit too often.

    Edit : just saw a new patch came out, so my config might cause problems because version mismatch. I will update it later, if it interests anyone.
