    Hey there,

    With AMD 3900xt and 2080 I get 40-50 FPS - max settings in 4k.
With bloom OFF is around 60.

Does the game prefer Intel over AMD ?
How is your performance when playing the game in 4k?

I think everything over HD is overrated. And yes in some games Graphic with a resolution higher that HD adds a proper wow effect to the graphics but Empyrion is not worth it is it?
Maybe i care less about graphics then most others but i think i live happier that way then people who want/need/use a smartphone with a 4k screen. (total waste of battery power)
back to topic: How comes you ask for preferation of Intel over AMD?

I find this to be quite bad rendering despite the very low view distance. I normally play everything at 1440, but with this, have to use 1080 to keep the frame rate decent (i7700k + RX580). It also seems incapable of maxing out CPU or GPU making me wonder about the coding of bits of this (or unity?) - probably some synchronous waits / fugly thread sync code etc.

I was just going to ask about requirements for 4K.

Well I've debated about that for some time now and finally decided that the jagged leaves on the trees would benefit from that extra resolution... well as many other parts.

I'm getting 42 FPS at 1080p at something like Pol Sanctuary which is a place that I WOULD actually notice much more detail.
The game does have a lot more detail in its textures now and yeah the textures arent very detailed compared to other games... I just canceled it out there. But I want 4K but it will need too much money.
    2080s are like $1500

Nvidia 2nd Generation price varies from 300-1200eu. Prices arn't bad as they used to be ..

Overated not at all. The only downside to it is that both GPU and Monitor need 4k support. Might be a bit pricey to buy all at once.
For Empyrion you're right . There aren't much details to be spoted. However, personally, it gives more in-depth look to the game.

Game optimization. Certain programs and games prefer certain manufactuers over the others.

    By all comments,
Looks like I'm the only black sheep here. :D

Voxel games are more CPU heavy, so running it at a much higher resolution than that puts more strain on your CPU and RAM than your GPU.
Most games of this nature aren't really recommended to run at resolutions that high. 1080p is the standard, though if you have the core hardware to support it, 1440p is feasible.
It's not a measure of what the game prefers, it's what chipsets perform better. The current version of Unity makes good use of multithreading, so older AMD chipsets would perform rather weakly in this regard in comparison to similar generations of Intel. 3rd and 4th-gen AMD chipsets in the 3000 and 5000 series would out-perform most Intel chipsets because the newer AMD architecture kicks Intel's ass.

Have tried it. Went back to 1080p. FPS fluctuates too much due to the strain on the system.

I gotta say I can't disagree with you more. The average price of a midrange GPU is definitely worse than it used to be for sure.
Like I'm looking at $1000 to get in there

The graphics detail is not great. Not worth it until grass, trees, reflections, shadows actually work.

An academic point because great screenshots are possible, but you have to post-process because grass, wildlife and so on are very very samey.
