Do you still have the savegame for this? In this case plz append to the bug ticket, so we can investigate. Thx!
I always have a save of my starting game for that (or a new game with the same seed can be used). When this happens around my base, or when the promethium disappears despite having set resource not to be consumed by auto-miner. -I make a back up of the Area folder of the concerned field from my current save game. -I copy the Area folder from the starting save game to my current save game. -Load the game(technically at this point, plants and rocks are harvestable again), leave. -copy the Area folder back up to my current save game. (This step is actually not necessary, but if you have an underground base, have modified the terrain, or have some devices put on the ground, you better do it) That is what I do to fix it when plants, rocks, and trees become unharvestable around my base and I feel like that detail is bothering me. Plants and trees can still be destroyed by explosive weapons when this happens. I have also noticed that some plants end up with the pick up action triggering when we look under the plant instead of looking at the plant. Supposing it is the same problem, that is a way to fix it.
You made my day it works but i havent the save from start so i have test it to delete the area files in the folder and it works too. But if you have an undergroundbase it not the best way to fix it and its not a solution for a long period of time. But thanks you have save my day EDIT: My way, save the area folder, empty the game area folder and enter the game. Than you can harvest or destroy the resoures, after that you left the game and copy the area folder back. Works fine
You can use a new game with the same seed. I don't know if it is safe to delete everything in the Area folder.(Maybe) You can copy back the Area back up folder before harvesting destroying the plants, they should stay harvestable destructible even after you have restored the area folder. At least, that is how things work with me. I guess it has something to do with the game cache.(or maybe not) But you need to load the game first anyway before copying back the back up folder. And of course, that won't prevent the bug from happening again. Seems to be an old bug supposedly fixed but not entirely, because in my case, pointing a tool in recycle/retrieve mod toward those unhavestable plants indicates "container hitpoints: 50/50"
You are not alone here @Roka Dransal , I recently submitted a very similar report, probably 2 weeks ago. Hope it's an easy one to reproduce.
I'm also seeing the same bug with surface rocks in my case. They are rocks I've harvested before that have suddenly reappeared. They have collision and I can see a tooltip when I look at them, but for the purposes of all my tools they don't exist. This bug or something like it has been around for years. EDIT: In my areas folder, the affected objects are in the files 0, 281474959933440, or 281474976710655.area. I know this because after deleting its content and reloading the game these are the files it regenerates. EDIT2: I'm not sure what triggered this. I had destroyed/harvested these resources a while ago. I just got done with some base building in the area after a drone attack destroyed much of it. The next time I loaded the game I noticed the bug. EDIT3: I should also note that the workaround discussed here doesn't work for me. Here's what I did exactly: Copy the whole Areas folder Delete the content of the original Areas folder Load the save then exit again Copy the content of the backup folder to the real folder, overwriting files with the same name After doing this the bugged objects were back again. EDIT4: As pointed out elsewhere here, they can be destroyed with explosives.
