What determines size class of the vessel?

I built two CV's - one of them from Combat Steel and the second one from Xeno Steel.

While Combat Steel CV has a 3 times more weapons and armor, it is only size class 6, while Xeno Steel one is class size 9, despite the fact that it is smaller and weaker in every aspect. It is a little bit confusing.

I'm just guessing here, but I think it has more to do with the design and number of devices. I think some deco items can increase the "size class" quite a bit. So can complex designs with a high triangle count.

It's been a few versions since size actually meant size, and switched to meaning something else.

That could be true, my xenosteel CV has a lot more decos and lights, and triangle count is little bit more too. But that is silly)) While I play without restriction coop game with my wife it is ok But now I understand why there are flying bricks all around PVP servers with class restrictions lol

  4. Size class isn't measure of the actual size of the vessel per se.
It's a measure of the impact to performance the structure will cause.

Number of triangles, number of lights, number of blocks, number of devices, etc, etc.
They all play a part in the calculation.

Lights for example. They have a huge impact on performance.
So it's entirely possible to build a vessel 1/10th the physical size of another vessel and yet it having a MUCH higher class size simply due to something like number of lights used.
It's strictly a measure of performance impact.

The name size class is highly misleading though and we tried, to no avail, to get them to change it a long time ago.
