    So there a few threads in the discussion forum from people distressed that they have lost their progress because they've found that their current game session is not compatible with the 1.3 update. There was a comment and suggestion by the user Yuz that I thought was worth posting here. The comment in full:

    ////start quote/////
    "Yuz
    They could add a simple import feature so people would not lose when starting over. I do it manually after dozens of start overs, but i know how to do it and reseting the area files too (they go bigger like the save game itself, some data bloating the file i believe).

    Bases and ships could stay on ready to deploy mode, when you find a nice spot, deploy your base with all your stuff from previous patch.

    My inventory and my main CV with everything is still from AlphaLongLongTimeAgo to this 1.3, but only works on single player.

    There is a game that does it, Kenshi. You can even select what to import, bases, inventory, relations, dead NPCs, etc"
    /////end quote///

    Might it be possible to implement something like this? Maybe not absolutely everything but maybe somewhere between 'lose everything and all progress <-- and --> copy everything including your base over to the new version'

    There's going to be more updates, there's going to be more lost progress and I think this suggestion will help mitigate some of the issues involved with that as the game moves through further releases.

    Cheers

    While I like the idea in perspective, I think atm you can just save all required blueprints and spawn them in new version via turning on creative mode for a moment. You can fill resources via item menu too. Also, what is going to be transferred, if the player has bases and vessels all around the galaxy, and new version changed the structure of the galaxy?

    All stuff in inventories of bases and vessels more meaningful than ores from the item menu. These memories linked with looting in dangerous places. Losing it is equal to losing game progress itself.

    I understand what you are talking about. Once during such transfer I made screenshots of my cargos and placed everything the same way on new base. But that was in another game. Still it doesn't answering my question about the galaxy change.
