Why are there so many hard coded key binds on the number pad and the right control and shilf, As a left handed player that reverses all the function on the key board why cant we get access to all key functions so we can play the game correctly? thanks
I may have misunderstood your question, but can't you change all the key binds via the options/controls menu?
He is right - there are a lot of hard-coded hotkeys, that cannot be changed via Controls menu. Even more - they are not even mentioned in the game, so you have to google. There is a thread on the forum with collection of all such hotkeys.
ok let me be very specific, the direction arrow keys on the keyboard are also uses for the sensors, so if you want to use them for movement you screw that, but it gets worse, if you then want to change the key pad keys, for space flight, like roll left right etc they are also hard encoded to the arrow keys. So now your normal movement is screwed. The key pad is also hard encoded to the home key dealing with block rotation. So if you want to use the key pad as another way to reverse the key board for left handed players you cant as they even screw up the ability to walk ie arrow key. effect space flight and block rotation. And you cant even bind anything to the right control or shift key. The whole point of key binds is to actually allow people with disabilities or those that are left handed work out a way to play the game if their right hand doesn't work as well. Please allow for total real key binds that are not hard coded to functions. Like most of the survival games ive played they have done this? This makes it really hard to play and well needs to be addressed or commented on the buy screen that this game is only for right handed players so that left handed or disability players don't buy your game! I also forgot to mention you cant even bind the right shift key which I use for run nor the righ control key. seriously what the point of having key binds if you really only going to cator for the right handed player?
The buy screen is painful, but really a different problem. I assume you already found the thread that describes the xml file. If what you want is not in there, you are better off raising a feature request in the "suggestions" or in an other subforum. Let us know how that goes.
