It would be nice to be able to replant ground plants like Trees, Shrubs, Grass and Bushs.

Often times when placing a base it destroys almost all plants around it. I wish this wasn't so. I wanted to have a cabin in the woods but it removes a lot of plant life around a base. I even seen some trees get removed by the base planting process.

My proposal is that bases don't destroy plant life around the base when you spawn via Blueprint. And if for some reason some plants get destroyed by the drill that you add a way to be able to replant them. Say a planter tool with some tree seeds, Shrub seeds, and Grass seeds.

If no tool then I also propose that wild plants regenerate over time. So if you cut down a tree it will regenerate over time. You remove a lot of grass with flatten mode on drill then the Grass should regenerate. I really think we need some way to restore plants that gets destroyed or harvested. However I think a planting tool would be nice.

Planter tool : A hand held device like multitool/drill. Then you have seed charges then you start replanting and say 5-10 ingame days on the planet your on grows up to adult.

I dread using the drill on flattener cause it removes all the grass. It makes the area around you dead and lifeless. I know this is trivial but I find this really heartbreaking that you want a nice natural base then half your plant life dies around your base.

I hope you review this development team and work on a solution to restore plant life. At least around your base if nothing else. I really hate how placing bases removes plant life even the simplest plants grass.

I would like to snug a cabin amongst the trees in the forest biome and not have the trees and plants get deleted around it.

I have long desired a landscaping tool of some kind to at least replace the grass instead of the "scorched earth" look we get now. Or perhaps modify the planter blocks to be frameless and be able to place sod. As for trees, I think using a bit of care in selecting your site could minimize arboreal denudation(tree loss).

I know this is low on the list but a planter/landscaping tool would be very awesome in combination to the drill. I just hate how the flatten mode destroys all the grass and plants and with no way to replant the grass and plants. I also think tree planting needs to be a thing.

I'm just saying sod might be more doable than seedlings. If you're looking to plant your own orchard, that (I think) would be a whole other issue.

Sod blocks and landscaping deco would be nice alternative. If I can plant landscaping deco that would spruce alot of bases up on the exterior by alot. I can go along with this.

Landscaping Deco alive and artificial : Willow Tree, Spruce Tree, Oak Tree, Pine Tree , Alien tree, Along with many different species of flowers and shrubs and bushes. Including rose bushes and tulips.
Materials: Plant fiber, Logs, Carbon Substrate if artificial.

Sod: Dirt blocks for bases that allows landscaping deco to be placed. Can also have the ability to blend in with the appearance of the planets surface dirt if wanted too.
Materials: Stone Dust, Plant Fiber and Nutrient Solution.

This is a acceptable alternative. However I'd still like to see wild plants regenerate overtime. But this idea is really good alternative I'd love to see landscaping deco and sod blocks.

Occasionally they do regenerate, though I believe it's unintentional. After an update, I've found trees growing inside my base and up thru the landing pad.

There would need to be some control as to where plants would regenerate after being removed.

That's the first thing that popped in my mind when I first saw that thread. My first reaction was to gather all the "vegetation invaded my base" reports to show how this would probably cause problems. Also when thinking how simple things like constructor queues just stop when doing anything else than looking at constructor's interface, I doubt "free growing vegetation" would behave in any kind of predictable manner. It would also add loads to all what the game has to check already, and it may be too much to ask for a somewhat very secondary feature, while there are more fundamentals to cure now.

What about decorative blocks that are part of your base? Basically a 3-tall block that consists of 1 block of grass, then a tree trunk, then the tree's bushy top.

And better yet, let modders make them. ;)
