I placed a base and after logging out and resuming the game the next day the base is now half sunk into the ground. I think this is a known bug. Should I file a Bug report? What I really want to know is if I can fix this. I tried deleting the Cache files but that did nothing.

    LMAO :D

Yes please file a proper bug report and attach your savegame to it.

To (temporarily?) fix this issue you should be able to use the setposition command (https://empyrion.gamepedia.com/Console_commands_setposition). To find out the current position of the base you can type di into the console.

Do link the bug below when filed @hurtfullplayer, I can attach screenshots. It appears IMHO to be related to loading, I was experimenting with textures last night and was loaded a game where the player is not even moving much or doing much about 50 times. And had it happen a lot.

Had it happen again. Luckily it is just a game I turned on Creative to just build stuff so I could just delete it and start over. If this had happened in a Survival game I would have been a bit annoyed. :)

  6. Are you using the changemode command to switch back and forth between survival and creative mode?

If so then that's the cause. Don't do that in a game you care about because creative mode uses it's own fixed seed and terrain generation and it will eventually screw things up just like you are experiencing.

If you use the changemode command you have to switch it back before changing playfields or before exiting the save.
Otherwise it has a strong chance at changing the terrain.
It doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough it should be avoided at all costs if you plan on keeping the save.

Yes, it was a Survival game I turned into Creative with the cm console command.
I don't care about the save. I just use it to build.

  8. Okay. Yeah in that case it isn't really a bug then.
It's just a side effect of using that command. It's how that command has always worked.

They really should include a warning in the help command about it though.

Does switching the game back to Survival before logging out prevent this?

  10. If you switch it back before logging out AND before switching playfields in any way (including just going to space) then yes, it "usually" prevents it.
    No guarantees though.

Also don't make a backup save while using that command as it can mess it up in the backup as well.

    For example,
Let's say you used the command and want to switch playfields. You would have to first use the command again to switch it back to the original game mode, then afterwards exit to the main menu to fully switch it back. Then you can reload the save and then finally switch playfields.

I have confirmed that switching back to Survival before exiting has fixed this. When I didn't the Base sinking thing would happen almost every time. If I switch back to Survival before exiting I have not had it happen again. Did at least 5 or 6 reloads and I did not even clear the cache. So lesson larned. Thanks for every ones help.
