I just figured out an easy way to implement walking around a moving ship!

    I dont fully understand either your proposed "option" nor the exact reasons its a bad idea as has been stated. But what I do see is only one person still believing it is either a good idea or even plausible as an option. At some point you have to sit back and say "Well, it was an idea, I reckon its not the best option." and move on. But kudos for trying to think outside of the box and put lipstick on the pig that is desynch issues.

    That all seems reasonable, but it's too late for them to reimplement the entire flight model and physics and it would be unreasonable to ask them to do so, and they've already essentially said no. I was just thinking that with a few client-side tricks, they may be able to 80/20 the situation and not have to do so. I can't know for sure as I'm outside of the black box that is the game code, but I figured I'd present the idea at least, and maybe it's something they could get to work, maybe not.

    There is nothing wrong with presenting ideas, even based on empiric observations, and doing this opens the door to debating, and sharing knowledge or opinions, so thank you for your contribution. Lets see if these are helpful for the developers.

    As a side note: Even when I would be delighted in being able to walk on moving ships, I never asked to the developers this implementation, basically because I always was suspecting that it is not easily feasible at this stage of the development, when many things in the engine are set in stone. Changing this, I think, it is outside the scope of the project, at least now. Lets see if Eleon surprises everybody pulling out this rabbit from the hat, but I would not contain the breath waiting for this.
