Can we have the functionality of the auto-group button of the ship devices tweaked to only auto group ungrouped items by default, with the option to shift-click it (or similar) to auto-re-group everything? Nearly all, if not all, issues with auto-group wiping out existing groups could be fixed if the auto-group by default only affected ungrouped devices and I'd probably make a lot more use of the feature.
