You drift from specific to general and this is a common logic mistake. The other one is taking others for imbeciles, another is reacting like your life is threatened by a simple question, and another is believing server owners are all stupid and never saw what a huge issue this was.

But maybe it wasn't ? How can we know? You didn't ask. And you try very hard to cover this simple fact with lots of unrelated stuff and attacks.

All this leads to you saying things you would never say if facing me in person. I would have told you one tenth of the things you have told me here and on other threads, on the same tone you used, and you would burn up in flames. Your "consciousness" doesn't include yourself obviously. And when such things are that obvious to others but not one self, you know (well I hope) what this means?

Of course "some" players think I'm a "pain" because they can't just write down some nonsense and build upon it without me asking a question or commenting. Fortunately, and I know that your selective memory never saw these, there are other people who don't have a similar problem here on these forums, and who see a question as a question, and not as a hidden trick or dangerous event.

The best thing could be to ignore you, but I think this is disrespectful, as I enjoy when someone writes relevant or intelligent things. Here, you really went over the top just because I asked you if you asked the server owner if this market price thing was a big problem.

Don't you see how disproportionate your reaction is ?

Nowhere did I show your idea was a bad one. It just hurts you that I put my finger on the one thing you did not do prior to writing your proposal : ask if this is a problem, from the server owner's perspective. Not yours : the server owner or admin. Substituting your opinion to theirs is another logical fault.

And the truth is that you can't answer for someone else, so no need to jump all over the place and on my head. I gave you my own "speculation" why it might not be such a big issue for them. Xtended also did.

So if you had minimal focus you would have just answered "no, I did not ask" and avoid all the disgraceful display of butthurt.

I will enjoy reading your next idea, and I will maybe ask a question or two, so be prepared. ^^

I will mirror the Reforged Mod suggestion. While I am sure there are exploits somewhere in the system (they exist in real life as well) the mods there seemed to really get a decent handle on things.

@ChumSickle : everyone can mod the market prices as wanted. But on servers, not all players are equal, but they are all required to get to a certain point in a delay. Having an obvious "loophole" left as is may be voluntarily if it allows less "git gud" players to join the server, skip the multiple deaths scenario because mining and POI busting is not easy, and go for the "market trick" to be up and running. If some new player wants to go PvP, he will not go far in a starter SV.

These are the considerations that the server owner/ admin might have in mind when thinking "market balance". The only reason I saw here to skip their opinion altogether is to force players to follow the path decided by one player, which is to remove the market loophole and force players on the difficult and maybe boring path to grind for a CV to be able to go PvP with buddies as fast as possible.

But this we don't know : the question was not asked, and I'm just a *****.

I dont disagree with anything you wrote, and not really sure what it has to do with my comment. My only point was that if someone is looking for a decent example where some mods managed to update the economy in a decent way, then its a good place to start. There will possibly always be loop holes, and there will be people who seek to exploit them. Obvious exploits should be handled of course.

Well the OP here did a good job regarding a "fix", I never argued the contrary, that was not my point. Don't agree he did ? Why "Reforged" and not his solution ?

    Cool story bro.

Not others, people who ACT like they are, as you did. Act like a mature human being who does not constantly require their ego to be stroked and I will eventually treat you as such.

Ironic considering you told me this just recently and then demonstrated that it much more accurately applies to you:
I already explained how we can know. Again, you asked me the loaded question of did I ask first before assuming that an obvious mistake was a mistake, and I don't entertain loaded questions, or stroke the ego of people who apparently demand it such as yourself.

Funny, I was just thinking the same about you. Wanna meet up once corona is over? I'm good at teaching people manners, and you clearly have a lot to learn. You don't come into a thread implying the person is stupid and then say THEY need to treat you with respect; you've burned that bridge months ago by behaving the way that seems to come naturally to you.

Not a "pain", your attitude in your comments is almost always smug and superior and there is no need for it, hence why basically everyone else here manages to avoid behaving the same way. A question is not "just a question" when its implied narrative is extremely patronizing; it's a veiled insult disguised as a question.

If that is true, then you are a very bad judge of what is and is not disrespectful, but I doubt that is true, it is much more likely that you will nt ignore me because you crave attention and are insistent on laying on as much sophistry as is required to either get people who refuse to placate your massive ego to give in, or to make them look like the bad guy and try to get them silenced. Clearly it is not above you to cry to the admins to have my display pic removed when it offends you, so I think I hit the nail on the head there.

You asked a clearly irrelevant question that was addressed in my first paragraph, which clearly implied that I was wrong to even be suggesting a change to something that is clearly a problem. The immediate impression one gets from such a question is that you are either attempting to gaslight the person or are perhaps personally offended at the notion that the default market prices might not be perfect.

You haven't seen anything yet, the first page of my replies clearly demonstrates I was holding my tongue despite your usual arrogant behavior. Don't YOU know how insulting and patronizing your question was, or are you just being intentionally obtuse?

No, you just heavily IMPLIED that it was and insulted my intelligence, by implying that I have to ask someone before I can possibly know if an obvious problem is actually a problem. And now you are trying to ignore the fact that this is exactly what you did, which is either you refusing to acknowledge that you have a severe attitude problem, or outright attempting to gaslight me.

Again, you are attempting to engage in mind-reading, please see your above comment to me:
It does not hurt me in the slightest, I have plenty of experience with people like you. I have no problem asking a question when I think it is appropriate, don't try to put this on me when it is only you who is trying to imply that I can't know if something's a problem without first asking a specific person, meanwhile several others in this thread have demonstrated that they support my idea. Aren't you going to demand that everyone who liked my post first ask a dev if it's right before they dare to like my post that questions their infallible creation? I think that unlike you, the devs are perfectly mature enough to be aware that their creation is not infallible and that they do not have a massive ego that would make them incapable of accepting constructive criticism.

If I cannot answer for someone else, then why are you so apparently insistent on doing exactly that?

This is known to the psychiatric community as "projection".

Can't take the heat? Don't go into the kitchen. You caused this with your attitude, I pushed back, politely at first and then not. You had several opportunities to walk back being insufferable and refused to do so.

Notice that I was perfectly respectful and polite to him. Why? Because he was perfectly respectful and polite to me. I don't even require respectful, I just require not actively disrespectful.

Again, it was a loaded question, I do not entertain loaded questions. They are intended to derail the discussion. If a discussion that I start is going to be derailed, it is going to be derailed on MY terms, not the terms of the person trying to derail it, especially not when their direction is predictable, boring, and insulting.

Good for you, nobody cares. But even so, I'm always prepared. When I say something I stand by it, until I see sufficient reason to change my mind. No amount of loaded questions, arrogant responses, or outright rudeness has ever swayed me from my convictions, only rational arguments that directly weaken my position.

I have not agreed, nor disagreed with the OP of this thread. If there is a legit bug or exploit, they should always be dealt with accordingly. And I mentioned RE because they have already put in what I believe is a decent start to a fix to the economy that is already being play tested, used, and can be referenced. Not a theoretical one being suggested.

lol... I noticed a few times already. Not sure you should brag about it though. Took many pages on the "walk on a moving ship" to open your eyes, and here just a question and you've busted your fuse. The relation is obvious between the two, you have my sympathy.

If you now admit that I did a good job regarding a fix, why did you even have to comment in the first place? What value did it offer? Were you providing your own perspective? No. Were you aware of another perspective that you knew to be the correct one? No. You did it just to be annoying and to insinuate your way into the discussion, and then tried to make me jump through your hoops of loaded questions.

Either that, or you asked that question because you simply didn't read the whole message, and are now walking back your resistance to it because you're embarrassed but don't want to admit it.

Your insistence on asking that unimportant question, and then insisting that I answer it, as though it were an important question, is par for the course when it comes to your sort of messages here. This is not normal behavior, it is the behavior of deeply insecure people who attempt to make up for that insecurity by projecting an air of arrogant self-importance and smug superiority around others, hoping that it will bring them respect, when in reality humbleness always beings far more respect. It saddens me that people grow up in such harsh circumstances that they end up with such massive insecurities that they have to become insufferable in their adulthood, and that many of them go through their entire lives this way, never seeking the psychological help they need to become a truly happy person. It is a real shame.

Did you REALLY have to know that badly if I had first tracked down the person who initially set the prices and then asked them if they were aware of how broken some of them were, before you thought that anyone should entertain my suggestion on how to fix the brokenness? Why is that such an important question? Am I supposed to find out who it is and then personally embarrass them for their oversight? That would be childish and unnecessary; I simply found an obvious but minor oversight and came here to briefly point it out and then suggest an easy fix, without assigning blame or passing judgment.

There are only two obvious reasons that come to mind as to why you would ask that sort of question; One is that is that you're just trying to insinuate your way into the conversation so you decided to just be needlessly difficult and throw up roadblocks in front of a good and easy to implement suggestion that would help game balance, and the other is you did not bother to fully read the comment and you just HAD to butt in and immediately take the role of the skeptic for personal reasons, despite no such need existing. Sure, it's POSSIBLE that they unbalanced a few prices very badly on purpose, and if so the devs can either ignore my suggestion or tell me that it is unbalanced on purpose if it matters so much, but why would it make sense to even assume that, let alone bring it up as a possibility, and then insist that I should have considered it before making my suggestion? This makes no sense no a normal person. But you know what DOES make sense? An insecure person trying to undermine my suggestion with unnecessary roadblocks, insinuating themselves into the conversation despite having nothing of any real value to add, not even a personal opinion of disagreement that they were willing to offer.

A suggestion is a suggestion which deserves to stand on its own, whether or not the person suggesting it has tracked down the person responsible for having set up the thing in question to see if they were fully aware of all possible issues. After all, if you're insisting that I consider extremely unlikely possibilities before making a mere suggestion, why would you not hold whoever assigned those prices to that unreasonable standard before you allowed them to assign those default market prices? Is that what this is about, are you jealous that I thought of it first?

It didn't "open my eyes", I didn't want to get into it with you any further, as everything else I had said in the thread already was enough or an actual dev to consider or reject my idea. Apparently you needed an argument though, so you came to my next post to get one.

I asked a simple question and you answered. I did not write walls of texts so I guess you can easily trace back what I already wrote.

A simple absurd question that served only to undermine a perfectly good suggestion thread, and to insinuate yourself into a conversation despite you not having any real reason to resist it, which you now admit, as you now claim it was a good idea to begin with.

Asking absurd insulting questions is not the M.O. of someone who is just trying to help out, it is the M.O. of someone who HAS to start an argument with someone to get their fix of attention.

@Kassonnade As was mentioned in a thread yesterday, you need to take a walk outside. You are at it again, with the rubbish attitude. Have a break mate.

    My advice:

If you want people to pay more attention to you, when you have an actual insight to offer regarding some aspect of the game, go ahead and provide it. If you don't have one, skip the armchair philosophizing about what unlikely alternative possibilities might exist, and the useless obnoxious rhetorical questions, or at least rephrase them to be extremely over the top so the person just laughs, like "How do you know if that obvious oversight is actually an oversight, did you first track down the person responsible and demand to know whether they did it on purpose or not? I mean what if you're wrong...WHAT IF YOU'RE WROOOOONG!!1!1!".

This was not a "conversation" : I posted my question right after your initial post. Your starting point was a reference to the US server, and my question was to get a detail you did not include.

You read a lot into what is not written. This is not my doing, this is yours.

It was GOING to be a conversation, as evidenced by the other replies where people agreed or disagreed with me and I replied to them politely. Instead you largely turned this into a big argument and then conceded the point in the end anyway. Yes, I participated and refused to drop it, but you started it, and thus the onus was on you to drop it first.

If you don't like that I and others read between the lines, try not burying so much cynicism between the lines. It's hard to hate a pleasant positive person.

Disagrement is fine, but as you admit, you didn't even disagree, you were apparently just being difficult. Perhaps that is not the way it would be perceived if this were instead a "debate everything and practice arguing" forum, but it is a suggestions forum.

Guys, seriously, just stop it. There is no point in arguing with Kassonnade as all this person does is deliberately derail threads if you do not immediately agree. Use the ignore function and leave it be, better for everyone.

You had no business on the last thread you wanted to play backseat moderator, and you still have no business here. This is completely off topic, and on my back.
