Build: v1.4.3 3274 Mode: Survival Mode: Dedicated Server SERVER NAME: Underbridge Coop SEED-ID: 9105082 If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: None Reproducibility: Unknown Severity: Moderate Type: Quest Progression Summary: Story failed to progress at "Into the Dark: Find a way inside" Description: I'm at the Illmarin, I have found my way inside, I've looked around the ship, I've even found my way to the bridge and used the bridge console. I'm still stuck at the step "Find a way inside" Yes, I'm aware I can skip the step and will be doing so in order to continue progressing. Steps to Reproduce: Continue through story mission, get stuck at this step. Don't know if it's related to dedicated server or other factors. Possibly related, when I skipped the objective I got a message in my pda log that was simply "pda_qq44e"
After re-exploring the ship and re-listening to the message on the bridge console I was unable to get the next step (Find Answers) to trigger either. Skipping it.
I got the distinct feeling like the ship was supposed to open up at some point and let all of the nasties at me... was that supposed to not happen?
As you enter the bridge, you see the yellow mark on the console. But before, just when you enter the bridge, to the left there is a switch. That will open closed doors to continue but set the creatures free. The console does nothing, at least I do not see that it does anything beyond giving information. Later is where I have a problem: after reaching the place where there will be a hangar door on the side of the ship, I continue through a metal shutter door. You come to a platform where many spiders, scorpions and screamers appear below. At the end of that place there are other metal shutter doors. These I can not open in any way. I've walked the place back and forth in God mode a couple of times and couldn't find a way to open them. But in one of the many trips, when I came back and approached for the 5 time they opened! There were explosions and more scorpions emerged from side openings. I don't know what caused the metal shutter doors to open. Further on there is a room where there is also one of these shutter doors. But it doesn't open either! To open it, you must close the door immediately before it. For more description and to find the "answers": there is a door, behind this there is a section of elevator tube and immediately afterwards the shutter metal doors closed. For it to open, you must stand between both doors and close the first door. And you will find the answers you are looking for !!! Hope it is useful.
During powers of the Past, when talking to the station AI at the end of the conversation he calls you "Keeper of the Staff or Guidance!". Minor typo.
Thank you for that information. If you do die on your way back out after hitting the switch, since it closes off the original way in, is there another way to get back in that anybody is aware of?
Yes there is. On the other side of the ship is a unlocked small door. Slighly next to the big grey round "air balloons" (?) Also, I think the quest will still continue and close itself, as soon as you made you way through the whole ship. Don´t want to spoiler, but there is another console (one that looks like the Holo-Planet) when you fight all the way until the end. Yes, this ship is a maze! But I really like it. The way you need to go is given by the Holo-Displays. You know, like the person above me talked about the shutter doors? When you are there, you flip a switch, and open up some door all the way back, where you got into the ship at the first time. The in-game Displays tell you where you need to go. These shutter door will open a long time later, and by a switch somewhere far else. It´s like a labyrinth. It can be annoying, but I love it!
So... I think this is the door that you're referring to, which I'd already found. However, once I'm on the inside there's no way that I've found to get further into the ship again. Both of the doors on the inside are locked and there didn't appear to be any motion sensors. I've approached both doors and neither opens.
Yes, that´s the door I described. If it´s still locked, you probably havent used the right switch. The switch, connected to this doors is on the main bridge. If you haven´t touched it yet, you should be able to find your way to the bridge through the entry ramps; then around the corner up the stair; and on the other side and along the corridor with the small cabins. One of these entry options should always be available. Either by the stairs or the small backdoor. (Please ignore, that I already finished the mission, and recycled half of the ship)
So, both entrances are closed off (unless I'm misunderstanding something). I found and flipped the switch that's on the bridge and it closed the initial entrance near the hangar-bay thing but the other entrance didn't open up. I'm at this point mostly curious if this is a bug or intended functionality? It seems really weird that the game would lock you in the ship with no way to potentially get back in if you die on the way out.
I just looked for a fresh Ilmarinen and entered it. I made my way to the bridge and flipped the switch. The shutter door you show at the beginning closed off but the two doors behind the yellow door at the back opened up for me. A rather strange bug i guess. Problem is i can't find an easy way to "reset" the dungeon. Do you hear screams coming from the inside of the ship, as in did some spawners fire up? If yes, then you could activate invisible godmode (gm iv) and open those two doors yourself. If not then you're best off leaving this Ilmarinen be and look for another one.
Yup. I hear creatures screaming inside of it. I also died to them once, so I knew they were in there. Thus is the origin of the question. I'm assuming that it, like most other POIs, can be regenerated. You can use the ents command to list out the entities nearby and get the ID and then the regenerate command to completely regenerate it as if nobody was ever in it. I'm probably going to use GM IV to open the doors manually and then resume making my way through the POI at this point. Thank you all for helping me confirm it is a bug! P.S. I've uploaded the game save data to my drop box if Eleon wants to take a look. It can be found at https://www.dropbox.com/s/4lnjmv98f9ev1e2/20210317 CoopGame.zip?dl=0
For a final bit of closure on the thread, after I manually opened the doors I was able to progress through the rest of the POI without issue all the way to the end where the core explodes. Comically, the core exploding killed me. I'm not certain that's a bug... but some warning that the core is about to explode and that I should vacate the room might've been nice.
The POI will have to be reworked a bit (also adding more explicit and implicit guidance, markers and directions for the player with and without PDA active)
