I get stucked in zyrax 'Weapons Bunker' POI

    I've redone this thread - less TLDR...

    I have a problem with the 'Weapons Bunker' POI, my explosives don't show the usual animations and I suspect they don't work at all, in fact if I check with my multitool it appears that doors, walls etc. don't get damaged. This is especially annoying at the end in the turret room, I was not able to destroy the core, the doors won't get destroyed. Now, after reloading one of my backups, it worked at the frist trial.
    Is this a new bug in 1.4.5?

    Honestly, my first suspicion is this is lag-related, possibly on your end. I've seen this sort of thing and other oddities when:

    1. Players with 10k+ pings connect to servers. Even plants do not harvest and jetpacks last indefinitely.
    2. There is a server-side performance issue, similar effects as above occur as well.

    Try to reproduce, check your latency and ISP performance, and if these are good, report it as a bug.

    is this a single-player or multiplayer game? My guess based on your loading a save is that it is a single-player game and lag is unlikely to be your problem. In single-player when stuff like that happens often a reload fixes it. Because stuff happens. I usually completely close steam as well.

    Thank you for your tips. Yes, only single player doing the vanilla playthough in Survival. The same did happen with my plasma blaster, it worked but there was no explosion animation, the destroyed instances just vanished.
    Meanwhile I did the next POI which was the armory, nothing unusual happened there, all my weapons worked fine (although I didn't use explosives).

    Is it possible that the game doesn't like ALT-TABBING out to Windows?

    I think the blast damage of the explosive charges is a known bug and will be fixed. As for the Alt+TAB on Windows, I do not know I am playing on Linux for over 1 &1/2 years now.

    I can only speak for myself, as there are so many differences between systems, but I usually don't have problems with ALT-TAB to windows. Problems may arise because ALT is tied to my personal drone, and ALT-TAB spawns the drone at the same time the game gets out of focus and I'm on desktop focus. If I press escape before ALT-TAB then all is smooth.

    This game has always been really friendly to alt-tabbing, so my bet is that is a fluke with your game - i.e. that specific save. Happens only rarely now, but these things can occur.

    yeah probably, because in 2 occasions I switched to survival > creative and back during a construction session, I had to clear the cache because I was getting radiation burns out of reasons. My current save could be at the limit of stability because of that...From now on I will use separate creative and survival game saves just transfering blueprints when using the N menu in creative.

    Good Choice.
    Keep it separated. All else has a good chance to mix Saves up and get corrupted.

    Yeah that could be the problem. I did the survival/creative switch thing a couple of years ago, and bad things would happen.

    Haven't found it necessary to switch Survival/Creative in a very long time. If I've built something in Creative I want to test in a Survival scenario, I just use SBP in the console and drop it in.

    Yes, that's the procedure I plan to do in the future. I've found other threads in the forums here that report that the 'cc' console change is not stable for a survival savegame, I guess it's no different for mine.
