    "Story Chapter 8: Unexpected Allies

You found Yarod, a former station AI that got in touch with a VOID artifact, which seems to have allowed him to develop an own personality. He has integrated himself into your suit and is now supporting IDA and you on your missions. He asked you to not reveal him to the GLaD or any other organization. He might have a reason for this. And you possibly too.

You still do not entirely trust that organization called GLaD. Even the UCH itself has become a bit suspicious to you, based on what you learned from the TITAN logs - but your recent endevours also didn't bring you any closer to Alex or an answer that would explain what is happening.

So you have no other choice as to smile and try to stay in the game - which leads to finding an unexpected ally.."

    Is this correct?
I am finding a lot of LCD's on the floor while exploring the archive.

I am also having a devil of a time finding the lock codes.
I sent my drone down the passageway and I have found the room with the electricity symbol but that's it.
If there is any writing on the screen on the left, I cannot read it.

Then you did not read or find all the plates.

One plate says that you need to activate 2 levers (one is on the door at the sealed entrance - needs to be pulled first. The other is on top of the generator where you have descended down the lift)

One plate says that you THEN need to fly in to the area on the right side (with the blue curtain) to unlock the seals.

I will replay the mission and see if I can find those. Thank you for the tip.

Side note, I recommend repositioning the gravity generator in the science ship.
With it's current location the field does not extend all the way into the nose.
If you walk up to the captains chair you will start floating.

I just wanted to say, damn, those baby bugs are fast.
Makes me wish I could just toss a grenade into the room.

So THATS why I did not find the switch the first time around.
Also, a lot of the LCD's are still on the floor.
I really think it would make the mission easier if they were at the players eye level.

Side note, does anyone know where to go when you activate chapter 8? After I got to the GLaD headquarters and talked to commander mercer jr, I had to log off and I can't remember where he said to go.

Go to the system map > there is a station in the same system. Go to that station playfield and you should get a marker for the Sigma Fulcrum station.

Had to come here to get a clue as well. Backtracking everywhere and running around looking for LCD for a code is tedious.

Apart from the switches and poking the blue screen, I found I also had to have the archive access token in my ready bar, not just in my inventory.

    THIS. Thank you for commenting.

This should be listed as a bug. I waited for 8 hours of in game time to see if the doors would open due to the text on the blue panels. There is NO mention of this anywhere in any of the dialogs from players, LCDs or otherwise.

    UPDATE: So I stand corrected.

As of this posting date (v1.9.4) the doors will open if you walk right up to them. The keycode doesn't have to be in the task bar, it will open the doors. The sensor used to open the doors should be widened or some sort of indication that the code you already have opens the door.

Now that I think about it, why is there a keycode on it in any case? The only reason it's there is for the single player campaign, and the only way you can get there is after getting the quest from the ambassador. If you've started the quest you have the key, so why is there a code on the door to confuse things? I wasted a LOT of time looking for a pass code to open those doors (including wasting time salvaging wrecks waiting for 8 hours of game time to pass - read the message in the override LCDs outside the entrance: it implies a 8 hour wait)

Bottom line the quest works, but it needs to be cleaned up.

And I just realized this was a 3 year old post. Sorry.
