The story missions 1-6 have been changed and adapted from a little to a nearly full revamp. Note that playing the story now requires to play through the missions in a given order. The chapters will activate themselves when you reached a certain point. The information given are now a bit less intrusive, but still clear enough so you can continue even after you paused a chapter. The missions also have been spread over the starter system and are NOT located in one orbit anymore! To prove if the underlying ideas work out as intended, Iwould like to have you playing through the chapters 1-6 and send in your feedback on the following topics: - overall setup (position, availability) - immersion (story quality) - difficulty (enemies, puzzles, tasks) - guiding (do you always know where to go or what to do next) - bugs & things not working (how often did you need to use the manual completion feature) - errors with dialogues (please specifiy/screenshot with console opened + info where it happened) ... or similar hurdles that break the mission flow or the mission itself or just anything you want me to know. As this is one thread for all missions (for now), please clearly refer to the issue and the chapter you had the issue with or you are giving feedback about! 1. Tales of the Past (big rework) 2. Crashed Birds (big rework; formerly: Human Remains) 3. Totally Overpowered (smaller changes on start) 4. A Glacial Grave (smaller changes in story progress/setup; formerly: Offworld Grave) 5. Ancient Revelations (big rework in terms of guiding through the vessel 6. Uncertain Outcomes The other missions have not yet been adapted ((7)Meet the GLaD, (8)Sigma Fulcrum, (9)Unexpected Allies, (10)Wins and losses), but would be great if you can check them out as well, wo I can add the feedback to their rework schedule. Reporting an issue, broken check or similar, please attach a screenshot of your HUD and a screenshot of the PDA (F1) with the mission progress being visible. At least that helps to track down where the issue might be located at. Tip: In case you want to play a particular mission, you need to have it "rewarded". To reward a mission without having to play the mission before, use the console. Type in 'pda rwdchap 3' for example. This will make the Totally Overpowered mission available. Check the details in the info card of the mission on where to go or where to start (This is usually told in the ending of the previous mission in addition) Thanks a lot in advance for your dedicated feedback!
I seem to be stuck in Crashed Birds. I did try to talk to Kezzel before I talked to Commander Carver, (I found Kezzel first). Every time I try to speak to Kezzel the only option I have is "Nevermind". This is the only option I receive when I try to talk to him.
The streamlining on the Talon quest made it much better. The original was too much jackassing back and forth, especially for the very first quest. Nice rewards. I did the same thing. You'll need to manually skip. Should be made so he won't talk to you until after commander. Shouldn't the containers belong to Polaris faction?
I have noticed a LOT of containers that used to belong to a faction and are free for the plundering now.
Pretty much the entire Sanctuary is a free for all. So advancing the quest still leaves it broken. I returned to dude with the artifact and he wouldn't respond still. So I had to manually advance it again. I haven't gone further yet so I can't say if there are further issues, but seems like some idiot-proofing is needed.
I went through the new Talon quest (Tales of the Past) and everything seemed to work. I liked it. Some comments about minor dialogue issues: The Chief says that terrans arrived one planetary “rotation” ago. Scientifically, this refers to a day. More correctly, a planetary “revolution” is one trip around the sun, or a year. This error is repeated by Ada. The Chief speaks very formally for the most part, but he also says “…underpaid Zirax soldiers started to kidnap them to screw out the company for bribes and ransom.” Besides not making any sense, it seems very odd for the Chief to drop into the vernacular with “screw out”. How about extort? Also, towards the end, he says, “The Zirax Empire, on the other hand, still runs a full garrison on that planet”. Should that perhaps be “this planet”?
- You need to speak to the commander first - You need to have that science report in your pockets otherwise Kezzel will not respond.
Nice finds. thx! Will be adjusted. Just as a question as you did say this makes no sense > how would you express in a better way? "Polaris officials haven't been seen outside their stations a lot anymore, since some of the underpaid Zirax soldiers started to kidnap them to extort the company for bribes and ransom."
Did anyone attack you? If not, then the sign was simply still active (will look into it) Or did you sneak in to the base without using the official entry?
Nobody attacked me, and I came in through the front door and spoke to the guard before I went to that level.
That may be it. I spoke to Kezzel first, then the commander. Also, I do not remember recieving a science report from the commander after I spoke to him. When I returned to Kezzel he acted like I had not spoken to the commander.
.. which I threw in a storage compartment and did not have in my inventory. Ok, that explains what I did wrong. Side note, add the Polaris and Zirax factions to the players faction tracking after the Talon chief tells them about them?
You should have "discovered" the Zirax when you fight with them at the Heidelberg. I checked the sign. Seems I have forgot to deactivate the sign when saving the blueprint
You should have "discovered" the Zirax when you fight with them at the Heidelberg. That should work that way?
Still really haven't done many of these however I do think it's not the greatest idea to have the story chapters and missions all viewable - seems like spoilers for things that haven't occurred. Is there not a way to have story missions only appear as you go along the line? As for reputation and side missions those should only appear when you discover associated factions.
