Aesthetically better I like the more futuristic look so the 'skin' is very nice but as others have mentioned the models themselves need to be more distinct. While we're at it can you make the pistol not so useless? Damage is still terrible compared to survival tool and the hitboxes are still off even at point blank pistol sometimes 'misses'.
Yeah, i think that there is only the need to have a stock on the assault rifle and a different magazine on the shotgun, also because a 12-gauge cartridge would never fit in a magazine like that which is even smaller than that of the assault rifle.
just registered to say this. i like the pistol and im ok with the assault rifle but it definitely needs a stock as others have said the shotgun feels kinda weird since its supposed to be 12 gauge or at least similar to that which would require a much wider magazine then that and overall it just looks kinda ugly with a lot of parts i dont really see the need for, oh and it also needs a stock both of them as a guy who has shot a gun maybe a few times in my life i know how much a stock helps with recoil i dont have much experience but i know any self respecting rifle or shotgun design has a stock for a good reason. i do really like the pistol however i dont think anything needs changed but it will be sad to see the old space survival berretta disappear.
Hi! About the "stock" there are plans to make weapons modable from game like attach a stock, attach a laser sight etc etc etc. Hence there is no stock on it. As this system isnt planned any time soon we will consider to temporarily add a stock
That people always try to compare 21st Century Weapons with weapons done THREEHUNDRED Years in the future....
Weapons are timeless. there a a reason why the revolver has been around for 300 years.. and if you have an issuer with 21st Century Weapons in the future thin you need to take that up with the developer, because that's what there using do you home work weapons like the sword have been around for 10,000 years plus you didn't watch the video
I have to say I broadly like the aesthetic of the new gun models - feel they have a nice futuristic vibe. I have no strong feelings about the lack of stocks, though I find it amusing how much it has triggered our gun-loving cousins across the pond - if it was an area I knew anything about it would probably make me twitch too! Fortunately, as a Brit I'm not allowed to play with guns as we can't be trusted with them or something, so remain blissfully ignorant about any realism factors! However, Taelyn's revelation is quite exciting, and they do make sense as an intended 'core' for a series of mods. Very cool! I would say I do agree that the shotty and the rifle can be hard to tell apart, though having had a go with them both this evening I don't think it is all that bad - the barrels are quite noticeably different in first person view - I suspect when there is different texture schemes it would be easier. Exciting to see Eleon working their way through changing from stock assets, and I'm interested to see what other styles of weapons there are in the future....
You mean moddable by modders, or moddable in-game with parts gathered as loot/ new technology ? Or... both ? And again I feel the need to post an image for the "required buttstock" some see as mandatory for the shotgun : This guy can be held just like a gun, and can throw big balls of steel that bounce on walls and explode after a few seconds. Perfect to play bowling with enemies, this handheld cannon is the... oh... That's from Serious Sam, another GAME ! So about the SPAS-12 : It's a .12 gauge shotgun that has (not always) a "foldable" buttstock, and the reason is that is is much easier to maneuver in tight spaces, as used by anti-guerilla units that often have to claer houses and buildings. The game forcing players quite often in POIs with lots of corridors and shafts/ vents/ elevators etc, it's not a stretch to have a gun specially made for the task. In fact the buttstock adds stability when shouldering the weapon, which implies aiming through the ironsights, and that's usually when target is at reasonable distances outside, and the shotgun is not a good weapon anyways outside with ranges involved with most enemies, apart some critters that only have melee attacks. .
Cool ! That was a long standing request. I guess the "weapons mods" will still be defined in ecf config files at some point , right ?
Ofcours, but dont hold your hopes up any time soon. This is a whole new system that needs to be build and currently no time for it. There is no ETA when this will be done
I'll give my feedback on the weapons. First, Like the pistol. Second, the shotgun looks pretty good. Third, the rifle looks pretty good. Taken together, they share a "design philosophy" that ties them together (some real-world companies have done the same for specific lines). The problem I see, and this has been said by most everyone thus far, is the similarity between the rifle and shotgun makes them a bit hard to tell apart. For me - and this ONLY applies to me - it's only a problem when in inventory. On the hotbar, I always place them pistol, shotgun, rifle, laser rifle<optional>, Sniper rifle. That way, I always know which is which simply by their placement. I WOULD like the ability to custom color them at some point, though.
I have mixed feelings. I like Pistol, the shape is nice. The bolt animation after shot and flying shells is very cool. Suggestion: small underbarrel rail, for laser sight etc. The bolt animation of the assault rifle is fun, but it doesn't have auto-fire sync. I don't like the shotgun and assault rifle shapes. They are too simple, too "cut / copy / paste". Maybe other colors would help because these are too bright. Observation: all weapons have the ejecting system on the wrong side. Shells fly into the shooter's face.
