After making and using a chainsaw with the changes made to survival tool. I feel that the chainsaw is just not worth it gathers roughly same speed as survival tool and same amount. So why am I wasting my biofuel and still picking up logs. In my opinion a easy fix would be a harvest multiplier on chainsaw . But that's just my opinion. This may be working as intended and you plan on phasing out chainsaw. IDK but thank you
It all comes down to preferences: There are those who do not like the Survival Tool. They still can keep using Pistol and Chainsaw. Others like the way the Survival Tool works.
This, exactly. I don't like the pistol, and never did. But I don't like using the survival tool at all. Once I can get a chainsaw, a shotgun, and stuff, I put the survival tool away until I NEED it. Once I get a good drill, the survival tool is relegated to emergency use only. But, that's just how I play.
The chainsaw should be a clear upgrade to the survival tool. Or if not, then the chainsaw needs to be free to craft and use.
I haven't even used a chainsaw in years in this game. A shotgun is faster...... Even after they nerfed the shotgun on trees, it was still faster than the chainsaw. Shotgun shells are cheap enough I never cared. That should be all you need to know about the chainsaw. It has been needing to be buffed for years now. Every once in a while I try the chainsaw to see if anything changed with it. Always go back to just using the shotgun though (or survival tool even).
Well, to be fair and all, once I can get a HV with a cutter thingy (sorry, I forgot what they're called), I just go cut down forests with wild abandon, leaving the chainsaw for the one off tree.
the shotgun should have a forward grip if it is to be pistol style grip... FOR THE LOVE OF FIREARMS, the assault rifle should have a scope on it... unless the plan on making custom additions scopes and tactical sights as separate items to go along with skills? (sorry if it has... just read notes have not even launched) extras.... Also chain saw... {anyone else want some fun future melee weapons added?) super love the chain saw as a melee weapon for going after bugs when i get light/med armor... wish the chainsaw harvested more meat off big critters... I have no love for HVs I make a silly small one for getting about and put a little into a base then SV... Staff/devs - love the game through all the ups and downs. I love this game.
The assault rifles T2 and Epic have the scope, just the T1 is for rookies that have to earn better equipment by proving their valor on the field first. I just read recently that during WW1 the Russians often had no weapons for rookies and sent them unarmed on the battlefield, telling them to grab weapons from dead soldiers. That was total crazyness. No wonder there was a revolution following that... This. If some players think that the survival tool rendered the pistol and chainsaw useless, they did not use the chainsaw to it's full capacity I guess. And pistol has much better range than survival tool, so some precious seconds can be earned there when swarmed by critters. The when out of ammo survival tool can finish the job.
If I remember correctly (and there is a good chance I DON'T), during WWII, they would issue one man a rifle, the next 7 rounds. The guys with rifles were told to find ammo, the guys with ammo were told to find weapons. (Not quite the way I wrote it, but you know what I mean.). Of course, they were throwing MILLIONS of poorly trained bodies into the battle as emergency troops, so they didn't really have the weapons to give EVERY troop one. (I believe they were also issuing WWI rifles. I want to say it was during the Battle of Stalingrad, but might have been all over the front.) I wonder if they ever started making enough guns for everyone?
They should just make it give a few more mats and speed it up a bit. Make it worth while to make and use. Though I have fun killing spiders with it myself. And it uses way to much fuel to be of real use in the game. though haven't been able to kill the baby spiders with it as of yet to fast ......
