Hi all ! Is it possible to share what I discover on a planet with my faction, and so, my friend could have the same view on planets ? I'm not talking about the registry Thx for any answer !
Dumb question : does "reputation" affect all faction members equally vs NPC factions or is it based on individuals ?
We're doing this through Discord. Transfer screen. In our experience, reputation applies to the faction. The actions of each individual affect all.
As Annimar stated, it is faction wide. Some things worth noting are: When adding a new member to the faction their current rep is figured in with the factions current rep. IOW, if you are honored with one faction and add a member that is hostile to that faction it will have a major negative effect on your factions rep with them. Same works in reverse as well (and is somewhat exploitable as well). Also worth noting that in SP you cannot effect the rep with factions you have not discovered yet but in MP that is not strictly true. If anyone in the faction discovers an NPC faction, you can effect the standing even if it is still hidden on your NPC factions tab. I do not think that is intentional though and I have no idea if 1.5 will address this. IMHO, I think the intention is for faction members to completely share faction status including discovered factions but none of the devs have stated one way or another that I know of. I am not all that active here though so I could have easily missed something.
NP. If anyone else knows, I still would like to know how the core of that mechanic works - adding new members to a faction. My faction assumes that it is averaged out - if my team of 2 has 10000 rep with a faction and I add someone with 1000 rep will we now have 7000 rep ( (10000+10000+1000)/3 but we really have no idea. It may work totally different, I just know it effects standing and can effect it a lot. When 1.5 hits I will test but until then really do not have a good way of doing so.

LOL. Ya, happens to the best of us. I was the dunce last time - tried to scan for threats in PvP space when repairing. Instead sank 4 rockets into the pirate base. They were not happy....
But that wasn't necessarily your fault. There is a delay when scrolling through the toolbar. You want to scan and shoot instead, you want to shoot and scan instead. Very annoying. I always wait half a second after scrolling.
