Hmm, maybe I should blog on this thread more often. What I have been doing, on and off during my study breaks, is working diligently on various classified projects inside MechsiCo System Headquarters for the Blue Nova Syndicate on the Red vs Blue Server. Par the directive set by Brokenshakles, no capital vessels are under construction at this time, though hover vessel and small vessel production is proceeding in full swing. More advanced designs have also been drawn up, but they will wait until the server is wiped after the Alpha update.
Well spent a few hours working on the interior of the Minotaur Cruiser. Still mostly empty, but here's some of the more complete interiors:
whos up for a long report? we took the server back to survival and started anew, it was fun watching all my players roll down the mountain in pods on day one, and i look forward to it again come alpha all in all this is over the course of 2 days. Day1: We deployed the temp shelter, expanded the greenhouse, and added a landing pad, then proceeded to begin mining ops with cheap Hvs. once we got to a point where we could, we deployed Drifters T1 mobile base CV and went to the moon to mine everything we could find. once that mission was completed, and the take offloaded back on Akua, we proceeded to re-take the trading post, and i moved in shortly after once my Forrester Class CV was spawned. (int bridge of Forrester Class in Low Power mode) Day 2: after some time re-fitting the shipyard for our needs and removing all the alien devices, i received word that we had a new structure built on Akua for community housing... so i loaded into the Forrester and went home. When i landed, i had to park on the lawn, which made the Forrester clip out and damn near bounce back off the surface... once i got it settled i stopped to take a selfie Then solved my landing problem by spawning in our CV-LZ. makes for a nice parking lot for the "Apartment Building" its a pretty sight to behold from the penthouse level lol. thats all, were waiting on the Wanderer to complete so we can take over Ningues.
I know what ya mean. For the Topic: I've stopped playing the Eleon Test Server now that I know that i'll never get a Minigun on there. Guess i'm screwed for Empyrion play till Alpha hits.
Today, I completed all the classified projects being completed by MechsiCo, and accepted a new contract to build an orbital dry dock for an undisclosed class of vessels in Blue Nova Syndicate space. Work shall begin tomorrow.
The more the updates focus on revealing new building and design options, the more I just want to build. Honestly, I personally get more enjoyment from designing and building ships and bases than playing the game. I'm betting I'm not alone on this.
Got a first concept for a sports-car-styled spaceship... only problem is: it's huge (and quite possibly impossible to build) o.o Approx 97 x 37 x 27 in the current, rough, pixel-art form. Loosely based on the McLaren P1 (no, not a very good representation, especially from side view, but something to base it off at least ) (Next up after this concept: one based on the Lamborghini Diablo) Still needs a lot more work, but it's a start If I could make it small enough, it'd be pretty epic as an HV or SV. Here's the text I published it to Imgur with: (We really need to have smaller-sized blocks so that detailed ships don't have to be unreasonably big. Is it too much to ask to have a well-detailed but small ship? )
Alarmingly impractical too! Initial prototypes proved my fear... for that level of detail, it has to be HUGE. Which makes it less cool :\ Maybe one day
@=TCR= Big_Red :O That thing is gorgeous! My current car is just a '95 Mercedes C280 (pretty much basic commuter car), so very jealous here @piddlefoot LOL I need to see that movie again. Get some more inspiration heh And yeah, my art skills are pretty sub-par, so I'd need to re-do the roof maybe 4 or 5 times to get it to where I'm satisfied with it. Plus the whole cockpit needs to move more towards the middle than the back. And the flare in the front needs to be reduced/removed. All for something I'll likely never build But hey, at least it keeps me occupied.
Did some more interiors for the Minotaur Cruiser: And also worked a bit on the Sports Car SV. Tried to make one in that vein, yet small enough to not be as impractical as one would expect of such a vessel. Regardless, here is what I came up with so far: It lives up to the Sports Car idealogy by doing 0 - 110 m/s in about 1.4 seconds by means of main (rear) thrusters, and 0 - 110 m/s in a bit over 3 seconds by secondary thrusters (any of the other directions). It also maneuvers quite sharply, due partly to the tremendous thrust put out by the rear thrusters, and partly because it only weights 6.6 tons. Also true to the Sports Car idea of saving weight, it is only equipped with generators, fuel, a cockpit, RCS, and thrusters. No fridges, O2 tanks, or other luxuries. It does have a massive, completely pointless spoiler, a splitter (sorta), and a diffuser, but those can all be removed if you think your Spaceship Sports Car is a little too silly looking
What's it like with the top down and tunes rocking? BTW thank you for the compument on the Chevelle. It was a complete restore.
