I just had the same thing happen to me, this save game was made just before I reached the console for another issue I was going to report.
Lots of right-clicking to FF the text but I went through it all. In my case I exited the game just before getting in range of the console because I wanted the save game file for a different issue that I reported. When I loaded the save nothing happened when I got within range of the console. Recently I played through again and did not have the issue, but it was a straight play through without pausing/saving.
So when the issue happened you had the PDA active with the advice to access the console. But before you did that, you made a save by leaving game, going to the save menu (main menu), making a savegame there and then resuming the original savegame. You did not use ESC > save copy while staying in the savegame, correct? Just trying to find out if there is a way to trigger the issue
But the mission did proceed? (The next step is to send you to the sanctuary)? I am afraid I cannot reproduce the initial issue in the OP :/
yes thanks - I was able to push on with the mission. I actually had to skip part of the early talon quest, since I had already prepared antibiotics when I got infected by dermal parasites at the old Talon tower. I got to the Sanctuary and saved. Inside I spoke with the guard, but the elevator doors wouldnt open. I tried several times- they wouldnt budge. So I went to another save, returned to the sanctuary and finally got it to work.
This just happened to me in 3373. I had exited the game while standing to the bottom of the elevator to the bridge. When I loaded the game the dialog did not trigger when I approached the console. So it seems that exiting the game before approaching the bridge console was the cause of the issue.
Interesting find.. did you exit or reload the game with other occurences of dialogues/tasks being blocked? Will have a look.
I think this would qualify as a reload. I had exited the game so I could ZIP the game files then reloaded it. I did not close the program.
