I've never bothered to use teleporters. This will be the first scenario where I do - 1.5 playing through the new missions. I've gone to Sanctuary when instructed to use the teleporter up to the orbital station to advance the next mission. The destination list is empty. Built my own at base. Same thing. Empty. What gives?
You can only teleport to stations you've already discovered and only if they are part of the teleporter network, most mission teleporters on the other hand have fixed destinations so if it did not work you need to file a bug report
Only reachable destinations are listed, in 1.4- game versions you needed to be careful for not getting stucked: some destinations were a 1-way travel only because of faction reputation. You had to be sure to be friendly with both the departure and destination factions in order to be able to return. Maybe they have fixed this now and the teleporter will only list friendly travel points? This means if you are only neutral the list will be empty, you need to be friendly or more with all teleporter locations.
So I think I figured it out...I had to put the teleporter in MY base, then go to the POI, use their teleporter, and then I could teleport back and forth. Again, fly via SV up to the orbital trading station, use that teleporter, and then I could go back and forth. "Unlock" them by visiting them, I guess. I was under the impression from the mission description that I'd be able to just teleport up to the orbital station. I guess I was wrong.
Actually if your are friendly with a faction and they have a Teleporter Facilities it is enough if you explore those POI but do not have to step onto the Teleporter to get it listed.
