Is this game dead? Is there nothing more to the core development to this game?

This game feels too empty still this game wasn't ready to leave Alpha in my opinion. I have some questions for the future of this game to the Development team.

    1. What you going to do about trading/merchants and missions/Quests? Any new ones coming? What about a Ship Merchant to buy ships? Something unique from the Blueprints off workshop

    2. Gear needs looking into and reworked. Armor doesn't do much to protect you it needs to be made stronger for what it is and is there plans to rebalance gear in the future with proper stats? No melee weapons yet are they coming?

    3. Debuff's are way too crippling they need rebalancing. You can die just from a upset stomach. Character is way too fragile one debuff no matter how small and you die because you don't have anything to cure it right off hand. You need way too many pills and medicine to stay alive. Any chance that Character perks are coming to toughen up your character like more health or debuff resistance?

    4. Any new exploration stuff coming like new planet types or poi's that you only see in late game?

    5. Any chance that you allow Workshop mods on Steam to enhance the game more?

I love this game it needs so much more it is not done. No even close to being done. I feel this game is dying or in a deep sleep. I got 1501 hours into this game. I stopped playing cause it got old and stale nothing new was coming. I ask for a big update a update bigger then the rest jammed packed with new features and content to bring new life into the game. I want more then just bug fixes and poi changes. I was hoping for big content like new weapons, New armor and mods, New story line, Character perks, Improved merchant vendors with more stuff and what not, Better crafting better tech tree. Lets make this Game great again.

If it is DLC expansion lets get it going i'll buy it. Thank you Devs.

While I certainly agree with some of what you say, starting off with "is this game dead" literally 2 days before a new major update is coming out does seem a bit inflammatory, even if you did not mean it to be. So have a look at these links, and decide for yourself whether the game is dead or not, or if it's going in a direction you will enjoy.

Measured by the size of the development team behind EGS, I don't think the game is dead at all. You cannot expect a AAA game, when it is in fact an indie game. However I get your points, but they will take a little longer maybe. I also would add another very important point... a better AI!

OP, are you just too lazy to go in the 'News' section of this forum? Your almost insulting title sentence if not your numerous requests are easily answered there. The devs must have a reason why they get busy first with other fixes or additions, and from what I have read I think they explain it clearly enough.
Also the question about the sense of EA or full release is discussed in a pinned post on the game's section in Steam (Community Hub); maybe you don't own the game on Steam but I would advice to go there and read it:

    Great click bait title.

    Here's a chart for you.
Game is currently in the green section.

You have some valid points but while you wanting more features and story lines there are a lot of people on here who would like the devs to concentrate on optimising the game and fixing bugs.
As mentioned above, they are a small team and can't please everyone at once.
IMO this game is far from dead.

    Interesting.

Since the game Devs actually released the game on steam 5 Aug, 2020. Seems like the progress of PC video game was thrown out the window and any rules that we normal hold devs to adhere to with it..

I would not say the game is "Dead" but you better move on and maybe check back in 3 years if that.

One questionable thing about this though, is why rush the versions? Why the big need to push version numbers instead of actually have a version 1.0 that would feel like a final game?

I mean, if we look at GTA 5, which is in 1.54, and by now is a highly polished and optimized game (still some bugs though) which took them 8 years, with helluva lot more resources than Eleon. EGS is soon being upgraded to 1.5. Does EGS run? Yes. Is it optimized? It is getting there, the 1.5 EX is a good leap from 1.47. Does it contain a lot of bugs and glitches? Yes, a lot. Everything from GUI to structures spawning above ground.

Does any of this matter? It is confusing to say the least. Mechanics is still undergoing changes. Like the designs of weapons/tools as well as mechanics and of how they work.

Again, why was it rushed out the door? Only reason I can think of, is for economic reasons, and is that not a valid reason? Yes, it is but it is a highly questionable one.

In the end, the version number does not define how well and how complete the game is but as a consumer, a version number should reflect the state and progress of the game.

Personally, the version number doesn't matter, but for a potential new customer, this probably look pretty weird. It makes it hard for me to recommend it as the game is still getting changes.

The game was released on Steam back in 2015 or so. It left Early Access last year. Technically it's not actually "released" as it isn't complete. Ellyon for some reason decided to drop the EA tag while the game is actually still in EA.

No, technically it is in fact released.

That is the damn problem, they are telling customers that the game is complete on the store page and then stating something different in forums.

The game should never have been released, doing so is directly lying to the customer base and leave an extremely bad taste in some players mouth. It is in EA is no longer a valid excuse - the warning tag was removed.

This sums up the problem quite well:

And, coincidentally, I ran across it in a review of the game.
