    Hi everybody,

Last update is very nice and cool, nice feature for future etc :) thans to the DEV team!

But until 1.5 my MSI Raider* managed very well Empyrion, sometimes climbed in powa but very provisionally ... since the update to 1.5 the fans are almost permanently at max ... However I lowered many parameters and my MSI does not encounter this problem with other very greedy programs.

am I the only one or others are having the same problem??

thank you in advance for your answers.

What driver version is installed? Also try reducing video settings details i.e from max to medium. Reducing resolution from 1080p i.e. to lower might help too. In general try to reduce reflections, shadows and antialiasing to lower levels. For shadows set them to low or disable them. MSI AB might help you reduce GPU power by tuning to lower values for GPU clock and might help you reduce heat. Plenty of videos with tutorials out there. Also if you install the drivers use DDU and nvslimmer nvcleaninstall utilities to help you install nvidia drivers without the bloating they carry. Install only drivers physics and HDMi sound i.e Not the geforce experience and other telemetry non useful elements they carry.

Update: I forgot to mention that mobile GTX-1070 is not the same, in terms of performance, as the desktop counterpart. Less performance calls for compromises on video settings, as I described above. Same applies for the CPU.

Also what resolution are you playing at? Voxel games don't scale well, and will have a higher impact on CPU usage with higher resolutions. You should be no higher than 1080p with that setup.

@Myrmidon & Sylenthunder: Thanks a lot for your answers,

will recheck resolution but already had lower every video settings

but what question me is fact same laptop was not heating (and then using fan and making noise) so much with previous version of game, when I was using higher video settings...wierd...

Some people seem to have similar problems with these MSI systems. They're quite thin laptops for their performances, and they see changes in heat management behavior for seemingly no apparent reasons, but obviously there are always reaons for these.

If lowering resolution does not bring temperatures down significantly you can check for clogging of air flow in the laptop and around it (ex. device blocking flow in or out). If the laptop is still under 2-3 years of age it's unlikely to be a dried thermal paste problem, but seeing how many MSI system owners seem to have heat issues there may be a problem there.

My laptop takes fresh air from underneath it but there's only a 2-3 mm space between the table/ desk and laptop belly, so I used some of these felt pads we put under chair legs to elevate the laptop some 5 mm more from the resting surface to help fresh air get in.

The paradox is that calling these machines "laptops" suggests we can have them resting on our lap, but then the air intakes get blocked this way and "laptops" get too hot (depends where air intakes are)...
