@ravien_ff Your recent update of the scenario, with new photos etc gave me an idea. How would you like to make some photos with credits of the authors of the POIs planets etc you use in your scenario? I think it will be a great way to credit them all and every player will see their names from time to time when loading the scenario. Of course I do not know the limit of how many photos can be per scenario to be used when loading it, but some could have the credits.
The loading screens are based on how many tips are added. So if you have 50 tips, you can use 50 loading screens. I don't know what the max is, but it's probably 99. Space is also an issue. There is a 500mb hard limit on workshop scenarios, and I try to keep the size as small as possible anyway to be respectful of people's bandwidth. Would be something better placed outside the game, such as a Steam guide. There's also over 1,000 prefabs in the scenario, so taking pictures of each one and matching them up with the original author would be an entire project all of its own. I think it's a cool idea but not one I can take on.
I just posted this on the vanilla QoL wishlist area but maybe, if it's not implemented or accept right away there, I wanted to suggest this in Project Eden if I may: SCRAP DEALERS! Tired of gathering wreckage parts everywhere and not having someone to buy them? Look no more. With the scrap traders you can now sell steel blocks, generators, RCS, Fuel and Gas tanks, thrusters, antennas and whatnot. We could have more than one trader, one for CV parts, other for Base parts, etc. It'd make wreckage scavenging much more exciting. It it's doable and desirable, I'd be willing to help by creating the traders myself and share the ECF sections.
I do have Colonist Scrapyards soon and they could use traders like that. For balance they shouldn't pay very well for the parts, but would be a good way to sell unneeded parts for money.
You are right. I was thinking of balancing the game based on the MarketPrice. a) If an item MarketPrice is too low then don't offer that item anyway. b) If an item MarketPrice is fair and the player can make some good money selling 100s or 1000s then maybe "mf=0.5-1.0". That way an item could randomly cost half the price to full price. c) If an item MarketPrice is too high and a player can get rich easily then maybe "mf=0.1-0.4" and item count could be "0-1" so sometimes the trader will not show that item and sometimes he will show you only one. EDIT: Also the stock refresh time could be set higher so players can't easily cheat by waiting there or sleeping a few times. I will try something here and let you know if you think it's worth it.
Perhaps something like this? Code: { Trader Name: ScrapyardTraderSV SellingText: "Welcome the Scrapyard Trader for SV parts!\n<DISCOUNTTEXT>" SellingGoods: "trwComponents" Item1: "HullSmallBlocks, 0, 0, mf=0.7-1.0, 500-2000" Item2: "HullArmoredSmallBlocks, 0, 0, mf=0.7-1.0, 200-1000" Item3: "GeneratorSVSmall, 0, 0, mf=0.7-1.0, 10-50" Item4: "GeneratorSV, 0, 0, mf=0.7-1.0, 10-50" Item5: "FuelTankSVSmall, 0, 0, mf=0.7-1.0, 10-50" Item6: "FuelTankSV, 0, 0, mf=0.7-1.0, 10-50" Item7: "OxygenTankSV, 0, 0, mf=1.0-1.5, 50-100" Item8: "FridgeSV, 0, 0, mf=0.7-1.0, 50-100" Item9: "WeaponSV01, 0, 0, mf=0.1-0.5, 10-20" Item10: "WeaponSV02, 0, 0, mf=0.1-0.5, 10-20" Item11: "WeaponSV03, 0, 0, mf=0.1-0.5, 10-20" Item12: "WeaponSV04, 0, 0, mf=0.1-0.5, 5-10" Item13: "WeaponSV05, 0, 0, mf=0.1-0.5, 1-5" Item14: "ThrusterSVDirectional, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 10-50" Item15: "WeaponSV05Homing, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 1-2" Item16: "ThrusterSVRoundBlocks, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 5-10" Item17: "ThrusterSVRoundNormalT2, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 5-10" Item18: "ThrusterSVRoundLarge, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 5-10" Item19: "ThrusterSVRoundLargeT2, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 1-5" Item20: "PassengerSeatSV, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 50-100" Item21: "PassengerSeat2SV, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 50-100" Item22: "OxygenStationSV, 0, 0, mf=0.4-0.7, 50-100" }
Yeah that looks nice. The big thing is to prevent exploits or being able to just craft a bunch of cheap items for profit. Scrapyards should be where you sell your unwanted devices for cash, not as a "get rich quick" scheme so I think that looks good.
Indeed. It's hard to avoid them cheaters. I often play in single player mode so I'm not sure how it'd work in multiplayer. Maybe less quantity and high resupply time like days? (I don't even know if a trader's supply is global or local to each player).
Hello, @ArcticPrism. The changelog is in that link, section "Announcements, troubleshooting, and dedicated servers".
And here we go. Hmm, I can't seem to use the Colonists Station Services properly in the Orbital Trading Station. I can only repair my ship but they won't let me buy fuel, ammo, oxygen or pentaxid. Is it maybe because I have a neutral reputation?
That means they don't have those services. Not all stations have all services. I need to set up the starting sectors still. You can't do all the default missions yet.
Very cool. Just found some of the new POIs and they look exciting. Thanks for the update, @ravien_ff. Unfortunately while I was exploring outside my ship at an easy sector, a dreadnought appeared suddenly and ruined my day.
