    I hope someone can help me get unstuck. I've been trying the basic survival game (I'm a semi-beginner, having done most of the tutorial game). I've been following the story line. When the story told me to, I went to the nearby village, talked to the Chief, went to the Ancient Tower, killed some spiders, etc. Carefully doing each thing as the instructions said (because quests seem fragile). At one point, I'm told to press against walls, but that didn't do anything, but I found a lever and went down a ramp and an elevator and found "infected" people and killed them :-( went all around a maze, and got quite a bit of loot. Finally found the frozen guy and talked to him. Then I'm supposed to run. So I went back the way I came, up through the maze, back to the room with the three panels in different colors, and now ... I'm stuck. I've searched the web a lot. I think most of the solutions I found are outdated (I'm using the current version on Steam). I tried pressing each wall, forward and backward. I tried shooting things. I tried jumping up (I can see the opening I came down through, but it is too high). Tried switching the switch back and forth (It opens the ramp going down, but I assume I want to go some other way.)

    I'm completely out of ideas. Not fun anymore. How do I get out and move on with the game? Am I encountering a bug or just a puzzle too hard for me. At this point, I don't really want hints, just direct instructions :)

    Thank you very much for your help!

    Return to the entry area and try shooting the red block with a shotgun or stronger weapon. This block is made of xenosteel but appears to be damaged to a negative integer so it will, hopefully, disappear. Beyond that is a cylinder that is formed from an explosive block that is tied to the signal "explosive bolt" that is generated by a motion sensor that should have been enabled when you spoke with the frozen guy. Shoot it (from a distance!) and that should open a hole for you to escape through.

    I just checked that "get me out of here" walk-through in an old save game and it worked. A bug associated with signal logic for the end of this POI just got moved into the fixed category so at some version point the logic of this sequence has been changed so your mileage may vary. Fingers crossed.

    Thanks for the suggestion. When you say "entry area", do you mean the room with three big glowing wall panels covered with alien writing, one red, one green, one blue, and a small terminal next to an access to the lower level? Unfortunately, when I shoot at the red panel with the assault rifle or shotgun, it says "You can't damage this target with this weapon". Same for the green and blue panels and all the other walls.
    You said "red block", so perhaps that is in another area?

    Like down where the frozen guy is? I never went in there because as soon as I opened that door, the dialog popped up, and when that ends, the game says "Run!" which I took to mean, go back up. I did not take that to mean "run into the area where I just arrived and was told to run". Is the exit through there?

    I'm a bit low on ammo at this point, having shot at almost everything to test ;-).

    Yeah, the red block you shot at was the one I meant. I was able to get rid of it with the combat shotgun after doing a "regenerate <entityId>" on the POI.

    You have two choices that come to mind- let yourself die and when you respawn locally it will be outside the POI but you'll loose all the great loot.

    Or use magic in the form of god mode (assuming you are playing in a single, coop, or local hosted multi-player game) ... you make a simple change to a single file and it basically lets you behind the curtain- you become the great and powerful OZ and nothing can get in your way.

    To do that:
    1. open the steam app and click where you see your profile name to open a context menu- select "Account details" and write down the 17 digit steam id under your account name;

    2. equipped with the magic number you need to create a adminconfig.yaml file with your info;

    3. open the attached file using a text editor (I'd use something like notepad+ but even plain old notepad works as long as you don't add any new line endings and limit yourself to replacing text as described ... change the "00000000000000000" to your id and set the "3" to a "9" to grant admin privs to your id);

    4. save the file in the \Saves directory as "adminconfig.yaml"

      SP/COOP .. in saves directory at default path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves
      DEDICATED .. in saves directory at default path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival Dedicated Server\Saves (if you're doing multi-player locally hosted you'll find the same example file I've attached here);
    IF everything works the next time you open your game you can enter a backward quote ` to open the console and then enter the command "gm" and then hit escape to exit console and now you can fly yourself right outside using WASD along with spacebar and C for up and down. Once outside get close to the ground and repeat the console/gm to remove godlike powers (you want to get close to the ground so you don't fall like Icarus once your wings melt)

    Resist the urge to overuse the magic (you dug yourself into that hole mining- figure out how to dig yourself out 8^) but if you get trapped having the ability to briefly jump into admin mode is sometimes the only way to escape these sorts of issues. Others may have a better solution but console commands open up a lot of control that improves play as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror without cringing afterward!

    I thought I had made some progress, but now I'm stuck again (still in the same mission). If someone has actually completed this mission recently, I'd very much appreciate a plain description of what is supposed to happen. I have no way to know if I'm encountering bugs or just missing the puzzle or if there is actually no other path. It is just frustrating now, so I want spoilers, even though I'm usually trying to avoid them :)

    SPOILERS BELOW (for a very early game person)

    Okay, now I'm stuck because the shaman quit on me half way through treatment.

    I did get out of the tower, but not through any logical solution. I went back down to the guy in the cryo chamber and repeated the dialog and looked around that room, then fiddled around in the area just outside that, shooting at everything. At some point, the game said "the explosion may have weakened the walls" and the task switches to "check the walls for cracks". So I check down there, and every wall and made my way all the way up to the red/green/blue room. Still no cracks, but after a bit I get a message saying I'm infected and should return to the village, and then suddenly it is possible to go through the red panel and get out.

    I went back to the village, to the chief, and they say "go to the shaman" so I do. Shaman says go get stuff from trader, which I do. Then the shaman says put them in the food processor barrel and make antibiotic ointment, which I do. Then I use it, but nothing happens. I'm still infected. I go back to the shaman, but the special dialog is gone, and the shaman is now just a merchant selling medical supplies. I had enough with me to make another antibiotic, and still it doesn't help, and the game tells me I have seven minutes until the infection progresses to endo-something.

    I did a backup just after leaving the tower, so if there is a very particular sequence in the village, I could try again. (I really tried to follow it this time, though. For example, I went to the trader to get the ingredients for the medicine even though I happened to have all three ingredients already.)

    Oh! Third option .. choose to die in that entry chamber and everything you are carrying is in a disappearing "dead guy" backpack container which you can access using the F5 drone.

    It sounds like you did what they wanted (the purpose of this mission is to teach you how to craft medicine) but it sounds like you aren't apply the correct meds which might happen if the disease progresses beyond the level expected (the mission is hard coded and doesn't know) .. if you open the tab/stats view you should see an icon that matches the one in the main view lower left. If you hold your cursor over that it will tell you what you need to do to stop the progress of this particular problem. Here's an example of the float text for the broken bone but whatever is killing you now should do something similar. In this case I have three options- sometimes fixing one thing still leaves you with other problems to solve so you may need to cycle on "float over the problem/solve that problem" to get to the other side.

    Thank you! This was very helpful. Following your explanation of how to know what treatment to apply, I was able to cure myself! And now I understand that part a bit.
    Then I actually took a step back to my backup save and went through even more carefully. I don't know if I made the wrong medicine the first time or if I was just too slow. But this time it basically worked, and I was able to progress through the rest of that story. Whew!
    Then I did a little base-building, and didn't run into any serious problems. Back on track! Thanks again. This really helped.

    For the sake of someone else having a similar problem, I'm posting this message with a video I just found on youtube that goes through this quest and seems quite up-to-date! It is a complete spoiler, of course, but if you get as desperate as I was, it could help. This quest starts about 36:30 in the video. The guy in the video (Spanj) makes it look so easy! ;-)

    Well, @spanj is an old (experienced) Player, a bit squeamish ;), but otherwise a nice guy, who had made dozens of Play troughs to help and learn the game mechanics.

    Yep! You did. I did the same thing first time through this part, but I had already made my own medicine and had the right stuff. You made an ANTIBOTIC (RED) when the Story called for an ANTITOXIC (BLUE).
    This whole Meds thing is explained a bit here in the Story but there's a couple basics that aren't.
    Ointments are the lowest level of Medicine, then Pills, then Injections, then Kits. Each upper level does the lower level and adds more fixes.

    Example: You've got an open wound -> bandage.
    Left without treating : Infected wound -> AntiBIOTIC (Gel or PILL).
    Still left without treating: Sepsis -> (Injection).
    STILL Left without treating: Necrosis ->(Injection or Trauma Kit). IIRR ... :p

    You can also use a Medical Station if available, there are 4 different ones that treat different things.

    Medicine is involved. You should SO take a minute or two and look under Starter Info -> Doctor Journal in the Empyriopedia (F1 key)
    There's a pretty good guide there. Learning how it works while an Alien Parasite is eating you from the inside is NOT a great plan, LOL.

    Ask me how I know. And yes, for the record, I died. Repeatedly. {Slow learner sometimes}

    BTW That Empyrion section has a lot of beginner info, might read a bit, makes the game easier and makes more sense.

    Tip: That Cauldron is really a Food Processor and will let you make food items as well as Meds. VERY handy in early gameplay.

    EDIT: If you feel you have your answer, you should EDIT your post and mark it SOLVED not HELP NEEDED.
    ;) Have fun!

    I edited the thread title and removed the "Help Needed" prefix. I wanted to mark it "Solved", but that doesn't appear in my list of prefixes. Nor "answered" or anything that fits. How would I do that? (Boy! I seem to be clueless, don't I.)
