Here is mine little quick easy starter HV, the Lunar-X. Simple, Effective and cheap to build. Build time: 8m 09s Iron - 90 Copper - 76 Silicon - 57 Even gave a bit of room for some expansion options as well!
A LVL 3 HV requiring 100 ingots (or less) for early survival games. Hopefully folks will think it looks like a ship, if not, let me know and I will go back to the drawing board. HV-Water Strider
Good thing that everyone is the same height in game. The HV also causes an interesting graphics glitch, I reported it a while ago.
I feel like this idea here has the potential to be expanded upon. The underslung cockpit is a really cool little feature, even if it's not really useful.
I liked your hv so I remade it. It cost exactly 100 copper, 100 iron, 72 silicon I changed the size to make it square for maneouvrability.
Just made this little starting sv, level 7, everything necessary on board , proximity thrusters shutdown, standard nav lights, 2 gatling guns, landing pad. Just a bit over 100 in ressources.
I figured I would bump this thread with the super cheap cruiser. It has the bare minimum to be an operational HV with 1 hover thruster and no storage. The cockpit makes it a little front-heavy but it will fly on a starter planet. For me, this is my very early game replacement for the motorcycle.
Love the thread but I usually just build a white dart in the factory and use that through most of my early game
This is Gemini, a two seater for coop play that can be built at level 5 and just a hair over the original resource limits at 28 Fe, 106 Cu, 90 Si, and 106 C Steam Workshop::Gemini (steamcommunity.com)
I revamped an old build, making use of the plastic blocks (which did not exist when I first made it). It's just a little two hover thruster with storage, it's also very fast. Minimal https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1505353097
These are all < 100 of any resource. Left to Right: Viking 1 'Moonshine Express' - just a cheap HV with a bunch of fridges for cargo - to keep the booze chilled Meatwagon - for meat collection and 'negotiating' with Talon Basic hover bike Basic scout SV Two on right are sub 150, Right is my general minimal early game HV mobile home kind of thing. Clone chamber and all support equip on the back. Can add constructor and medical. Center is my early game mini miner HV because I really get sick of tool based mining very quickly Right is a near identical modded SV version of it, but the thrusters underneath push it just over 200 silicon. (Because I don't like mining with HVs either... ) This is a tiny bit over 200 on silicon (202), its my full cabin mobile home HV for hostile environment starts - supports a bunch of upgrades including turret. This is also a tiny bit over on silicon and carbon substrate, but 4 miniguns, so could always be only 2. Its my early game interceptor which I tend to keep into late game as my ready fighter for base attacks. It can be upgraded to T2 and a pair of homing rocket launchers. This is a slightly restyled version that I currently use - even with rocket launchers is still mostly under 250. And the color of all these screen shot reminds me why I dont often do jungle starts... Urgh!
Forgot this thing I use on snow starts: A little snow mobile type thing constructable at lvl 1 to keep me warm Think its maximum resource is carbon at 20 something for the skids. Either way a few of each ore rock, a stone rock, a tree and your done
The mighty "Dungeon Pod": It fits through a 1x1 large block opening. Why assault a POI on foot when you can do it comfortably inside a vehicle?
