    HELLO THERE!
My name is [REDACTED], but you can just call me Bloxwess, which is what I go by pretty much everywhere on the internet. I've been lurking here and on the EGS subreddit for a couple weeks now, and I figured it's about time I made my presence known. Now, let me tell you a little about myself.

    Short Bio or something:
I was born on June 24, 2002 in Houston Texas, which is where I've lived my entire life. I am a 19 year old, straight, white male, with ADHD, Anxiety Disorder, and Anger Issues (although I haven't flipped out in a few years, so I don't know if you can call them "issues" anymore). I am currently unemployed, as I'm lucky to have caring parents who can afford to pay for my education without me having a job. I am currently taking several courses at Lonestar Community College, with plans to transfer to the University of Houston to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (specifically computer programming). I have a single brother, who is 17 months older than me, who is currently attending Rice University as a Biomedical Engineering Major. My brother lives on campus, while I live at home with my parents. I am also currently the caretaker of my brothers guinea pig.

    My Interests/Hobbies or whatever:
Some of my favorite things to do are to read, play video games, and talk to my friends over Discord.

My favorite genre(s) of books are Science Fiction and Fantasy, with some of my favorites being The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings (all three of them), Deltora Quest (the original series, Deltora Shadowlands and Dragons of Deltora were only meh), The A.I. Series, and Space Team (the entire series, although I've only read books 1-7 and part of book 8).

I like lots of games, but if I had to identify my favorite genre(s) I would say that my most played games mostly fall into either the fast-paced FPS, Survival, Space, or Space Survival categories. My favorite game of all time is definently Doom Eternal, but I own/have played/love all of the Doom games. I also really like Quake, and I own the entire series except for Quake Live. My favorite survival game (and I guess technically space survival game) is hands down Subnautica. I own and have played Subnautica: Below Zero as well, but I didn't like it as much as the first game. I also really like Terraria, and of course Minecraft. Some of my favorite space games are Kerbal Space Program, The Outer Worlds (plus both DLCs; Peril on Gorgon, and Murder on Eridanos), Outer Wilds, and Endless Sky. Some of my favorite space survival games are Subnautica (as mentioned above), No Man's Sky, and (obviously, since I'm here) Empyrion: Galactic Survival.

My EGS Experience So Far... or maybe it was a dream... or a horribly performed stage play... or... something:
I got Empyrion: Galactic Survival on Steam from my parents as a present for my 19th birthday (June 24, 2021), but only started playing it a few weeks ago (looking at Steam it was September 13, 2021). I've already sunk 82 hours into this amazing work of art we call Empyrion. The first 40 or so hours I spent in a vanilla, survival, medium difficulty, CPU and Ma/V off, temperate starter save. I played through the portion of the story currently available and I loved every second of it. I've never really considered myself as much of a "builder", with the exception being the base building in Subnautica, which I absolutely adore, as such I've relied solely on the stock blueprints in the factory on my vanilla save, and blueprints from the Steam Workshop for my Reforged Eden save (which I'll be talking about in a minute). I started off by spawning in a small HV (I don't remember which one) to use as a traveling base, but quickly discarded it when I found the Damaged UCH Dart. I fixed up the Dart, which became my traveling storage unit/base/everything until I reached the point in the story where you have to go to the snow planet and it told me I would need a ship with weapons on it. So, I went back into the factory to look at the stock blueprints, and picked out a SV with two gats on it (IIRC it was called the FORGE Sidewinder EDIT: actually I think it might have been the ZeroG Sidewinder). Upon feeding in the proper materials and spawning it in, I was happily surprised to discover that this new SV of mine was not only combat capable, but also had a storage container and a fridge! So, I slapped a wireless receiver on that puppy and claimed my new base/combat vessel! I also realized I would need another ship to to jump to the snow planet, so I grabbed another one from the factory (I don't remember it's name) that I could dock the Sidewinder to. When it came time in the story for me to jump to another system, I selected a multi-purpose CV from the factory (it was the something Eclipse, I don't remember what the first part was), gathered the required resources, and spawned it in, only to realize it didn't have a warp drive. I looked around in my new CV, realized it was perfect for my mobile base playstyle, and decided to just slap a warp drive in there myself. When I finished the last story mission currently in the game, I went around from system to system and just explored all the different planets I came across. At around the 40 hour mark, I decided to try out this Reforged Eden thing I kept hearing people rave about on the subreddit, and boy was I not disappointed. After a few false starts (AKA me accidently deleting all my progress a few times), I now have a new main save. I'm playing RE, survival, medium difficulty, CPU and Ma/V off, with Akua (temperate 2) as my starting planet. When I first started RE I though 'huh, seems the same as before'. Then I opened the tech tree. I still can't believe how much stuff there is to unlock! I also quickly realized that a lot of the items from the base game had been changed, and I'm still getting used to some of it. I can see why so many people were raving about this. As of last night, I've just finished gathering the materials to spawn in my first CV, which I'll be using while I look for a blueprint that better suits my mobile base PVE playstyle, so when I log on after dinner tonight I'll be spawning that in. I've also been doing some of the Project Eden missions, for my character class I went with Engineer, and I'm on the second mission for that (IIRC I have to mine tier 2 materials). I've also found the UCH ship in the starting system (Alpha System) and I've scouted about half of the planets in the system for the Alpha System Scouting Quest or whatever it's called. So far I've really enjoyed this game, both vanilla and Reforged Eden, and I hope to continue getting more hours and hours of enjoyment out of this awesome game.
