I have a decision to make, and I would appreciate answer about how soon Empyrion will ditch 8GB systems? By that I don't mean "recommended" more than 8GB. I mean, when game will not run on 8GB anymore (at all), same way it's not playable on 4GB today?

Minimum requirement is listed as 10gb. Recommended is 16gb. I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to give you a different answer. If the developers update their minimum and recommended system requirements I'm sure it will be listed on the Steam store page for the game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/383120/Empyrion__Galactic_Survival/
