    Build: v1.4.1 3261
    Mode: Survival
    Mode: Singleplayer

    Seed-ID: 43351

    Reproducibility: Always
Severity: Major if CV is un-powered. Non-existant if CV is powered.
    Type: Vehicles/Docking

Summary: Character clips/stutters through SV floor and interior blocks when entering SV's docked inside an unpowered CV.

Description: SV must be docked WITHIN a CV (ie. a hangar bay) AND the CV must be unpowered at the time. Doesn't occur if SV is docked on top of a CV or if the CV is powered (but see side bug).

A side bug to this is the character will clip through ramps and shutter doors when they try to walk over them or hop onto them if they are in front of the entrance to the SV. This happens even if the CV is powered or SV is docked on top of the CV (doesn't have to be inside the CV).

    How to reproduce:
    (Pretty much as the description):

    1) Take a SV that has a walk-in cabin (ie. the Destroyed SV from the Polaris minefield; it has an open pilot seat with a hull built around it and a door at the rear to enter the SV from).
    2) Dock it inside a CV. (One that has an enclosed hanger).
    3) Exit the SV.
    4) Power down the CV if it wasn't already.
    5) Try to enter the SV.

If the SV has a ramp or a horizontal shutter door then the character will clip through that before you even get inside the SV (not severe but it's there). If you manage to get inside you will undergo clipping and your character will be bounced around inside the cabin of the SV to the point that it is almost impossible to move forward to get to the pilot seat.

Now try with the CV powered up. Your character can now enter the SV without issue although there may still be clipping with the ramp or horizontal shutter door before you get inside (which is minor but there nonetheless). Turn the CV power off again and the clipping returns.

The downside to this workaround (CV power ON before getting in your SV) is if you want the CV to be turned off after you fly away from the CV you'll have to open the registry and turn off the CV remotely (or else land the SV nearby, get out and manually shut the CV down. Obviously using the registry is faster). My normal routine was to shut the CV down just before entering a docked SV but this bug makes that impossible now. Not a big deal; I just have to get used to using the registry more often.

For the ramp/shutter door clipping I did not find a solution. What I did was I removed the shutter door I was using as a horizontal ramp and replaced it with steel blocks that served the same purpose (see pic). Once I did this and remember to always power on the CV before trying to walk into a docked SV then it was back to normal. Bug still exists but the workaround is easy and using the registry is a minor inconvenience.

Notes and other things I tried or did:

Docked the same SV in two different CV's with same clipping effect.

No clipping when SV is docked on a base (roof or concrete pad). Or on soil anywhere. Clipping only occurs with the specific conditions in place as described (docked inside unpowered CV).

To eliminate the possibility that the blocks of the SV were too close to the floor of the CV I installed landing gear that deploy 2 blocks high. The Destroyed SV from the Polaris minefield is very low to the ground and uses half-blocks with only 1 block-high landing gear. I was concerned that might've been an issue so I replaced all the half blocks with full ones as well as the taller landing gear. Despite that change the clipping still occured so it wasn't an issue with the virtual boundary of the halfblocks touching the CV.

Might happen with HV's but I couldn't test with a HV as I don't have a HV with a cabin in my current game. I have a couple of small HV's but they have closed cockpits (no cabin to walk into to get clipped inside of). Sorry I'm not very savvy with all the console commands to spawn in stuff or whatever.

    MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: No

Reproducibility: Yes, play the game for a while, parking a vehicle with an integrated cockpit in a CV.
Turn off the CV, do something different. Usually the CV is repositioned which would probably be another bug. At the latest then the vehicle is no longer walkable.
Does one of the developers actually play the game, I mean the bugs should also show up?

    Severity: (Major)
    Type: ( Vehicle )

Description: The interior of this really from my point of view nice SV's is a bit narrow and it belongs no clone chamber in a SV is clear to me. But so I could try to edit the config file and it ran so far without problems over tens of hours of play. In this vehicle, you just can not get to the cockpit such an error never occurred to me before.

    Steps to Reproduce: see above

If the bug reappears I'll attach a video or savegame - I missed it at the time.
