Yea I’ve got some boxes of old stuff in the loft and some old cases because it’s cheaper than trying to get rid of it

It's not "utter stupidity". Most people, apparently including you, are unaware of the actual economics of recycling and assume without evidence that it's pure profit. It's not. The resale value of parts or raw materials that are salvageable from e-waste is often enough less than the labor of recovery. There's a reason that China and India wound up with artificial mountains of the stuff; it wasn't worth the effort required even where labor is much cheaper than the developed nations where it originated. We offloaded our e-junk that wasn't profitable for salvage here to other nations... where often enough it STILL proved unprofitable.

I also doubt that any self-storage business would allow you to simply abandon a unit's contents with no consequences. It's almost a certainty they have bank account or credit or debit card details for automatic payments, and would simply keep charging you, and legally so, until you finally came and emptied it according to the contract you signed.

Maybe over there, but not here. Abandon a storage facility here and they auction off the content. And yes, I am actually highly aware of the costs involved in recycling everything from contaminated soil to electronic waste and even spent nuclear fuel. In the short to mid term, it does operate at a loss, but from the mid to long term, it is highly profitable. The tiny bead of gold extractable from a handful of scrap electronics doesn't cover the cost of the chemicals used, but the boxcar load of scrap more than covers it.

China, specifically, has their own set of unusual restrictions when it comes to electronic scrap, especially where data-storage devices are concerned. These must be reviewed for any potential content that may be deemed of-value to the state, which creates an artificial bottleneck. India, on the other hand, is just plain slow about it, and only bulk-processes electronic scrap at certain levels, which does cause massive backlogs.

But enough about the salvage business or the storage business, or the fact you can't change my mind that you've been price-gouged for recycling. Over here, unless you are disposing of large amounts of material at one time, our recycling centers do not charge you to take scrap items, they just take them. Just dropped off two old printers and three monitors yesterday. Cost me nothing more than the 20 minutes it took to drive there.

Have you resolved your crashing issue? That's really my only interest here.

Managed to get rid of the printers for free. Chap near me repairs printers and photocopiers. He even gave me a tenner as the scanners were still okay. He breaks them down and uses the parts as spares.
That's a good idea to rent a storage unit and then abandon it. Round here they won't rent unless you can give proof of identity, that way they can bill you for clearing it out! You can never win, these days.
Well, I can't get Empyrion back on my Steam unless I pay for it as I hid it. Never mind, plenty of other games to play.
Thanks to everyone who contributed and good luck to you all.

  5. Open your Steam client, click view at the top left, and select "Hidden Games".
Then mouse over the hidden game, right click, select manage, then "remove from hidden".

    Hope that helps.

No its not in the hidden games - just 'Nothing Matches This View Filter'
I might buy it again and re-install when I have a bit of spare money - probably in about 6 months.

    It was never beta.
You can go back to the alpha versions though.

Is it possible that instead of simply hiding the game you permanently removed it from your library ?
