26 Jan 09:52 EST. Apparently you guys just put out a patch which includes several fixes for problems that were introduced in the 1.7 update. I cannot comment on those fixes because I have not played enough yet to test them. However, the consensus among players seems to be the player character avatar's movement has been slowed substantially. As one user put it: "like running through treacle." Maybe this was an unintentional effect of other changes made. But in any event, I want to make you aware that this is unlikely to be popular with any of your users: >5000 hours; under 3000 hours; in the hundreds of hours ballpark; brand new player; or simply sitting with the game on Wishlist waiting. If selling game licenses is your goal, you should revert whatever is causing this, and strive not to impose these kinds of things which are bound to be unpopular with users. That is all.

There was a bug and they fixed it, I don't see a problem.

Should the degree of which you are slowed be changed? Well that's a different subject entirely (not that I'm for or against such a change) but a bug fix should rarely if ever be reverted.

So users are expected to use one of the scarce armor slots to install a mobility booster simply to regain approximately the speed they were moving at pre-patch (perhaps even two required?), and this is supposed to be "good game design!?" :p

Like I said: it is unlikely to be widely popular, so if the goal is to make the game less popular overall, carry on!

It was a bug, just because a player isn't aware something is bugged doesn't mean the devs should not fix it. Saying it should be flat out reverted is not a solution. If you are concerned that it is too slow then the conversation should be able about how quick/slow it should be, not reverting a bug fix.

To me it suggests that what you are used to is not how it was intended to be, so perhaps the conversation should be something like, "ok if there has to be a penalty then could it be X or Y rather than Z?".

Hmmm...my movement seems like half speed at least compared to before the patch. What is the "bug" that this supposedly fixed.

I have never been this slow....while "running" it's barely even perceptible the difference in speed and even the "walking" seems like I previously was crouching speed or something. Everything movement-wise is extremely slow. This makes the game completely unenjoyable at the moment. Just walking around my base to get to different furnaces, constructors, grow plots is like walking through molasses...

The bug, if I'm understanding it correctly, was heavy armour slows you down. Armour boosts placed inside the heavy armour also slow you down, or at least they should have been but weren't.

    Well that makes sense.
Did the bug purely affect heavy armour or all armour?

"It was a bug" is the given excuse to nerf something. Has been for quite some time.

Instead of saying "we slowed player movement speed requiring armor slots to be used for mobility" and listening to everyone complain, they say "well, it was a bug, and we fixed it".

Either way, it sucks to move at a snail's pace. I am walking at what feels like "broken leg" speed. Its annoying as hell.

It actually was a bug, and they've since adjusted the movement speed of armor to compensate.
