Luckily those can be modded relatively easily. If you can copy and paste a couple files, you can mod them using crosshairs someone has made for you. It should be an option in-game I completely agree though.
thank you, have you been watching my weekly round up vids then? yea im really pleased with how the settlements turned out, i was thinking about doing an ruined/abandoned version once i finish the missile base and defence platform
I know, but correct me if I'm wrong, every time there is a major update, there is a good chance I would have to redo it. Simple enough, but I don't like making the file changes I do now. It's tedious, time consuming, and leaves open for errors. And for something as basic as crosshairs, reticle, cursor, whatever, it SHOULD BE A MENU ITEM. But that's not gonna happen and I can live with that up to the point I can no longer see it.
I have been on these forums for a short time (couple years?). I get more from it than what I put in. I have been working on a scenario for some 8 months now, learning breaking, relearning, making things harder for me than they need to be. I lose faith in Eleon at times (sorry guys I know you work your asses off), but then I consider my own position as an indie developer and get back to a good place. In the end because the community has given me so much, I want to be able to give something back and up my participation a bit as time allows and maybe I can help some folks overcome or avoid the pitfalls I have experienced and/or created. That leads me to what I did (am doing) in Empyrion today. After putting in a solid 90 hours last week (its nice being old and retired), I took a few days off. But today I am finishing up the starter quests for the server community I belong to (SDG) so we can test the starters and new elements this weekend as I nudge closer and closer to a final complete custom scenario With this a special shoutout to Ravian (always helpful), Rexxus (your tools are pretty great man) and JM (Love your planet creation tool). You three in particular are top notch. Thank you for all you do o/
Today I was kit bashing again. Took an existing build, raised the roof, added crew quarters for 4 and 12 grow pots. All while keeping it small enough to be able to fly in through the hangar doors of my carrier.
Ok so after spending alot of the week with builders block and not being happy with anything i was doing finally ended and finished and submitted these Ravagers Orbital Defence Station Ravagers Hydroponics Station also a player version Hydroponics Station https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2734304164
I started on a planet twice... died both times while gathering goodies, but, there are still more hours left tonight. Every guy I made so far has died, but some last longer than others... not built anything yet, but I did try to rebuild an abandoned bunker... died! Loving it.
On a side note, this is what I meant when I said it would fit in the carrier. The carrier I made has a pair of 14x7 doors, the ship had to be able to squeeze through them.
Today I have been working with the PDA and Dialogue systems. Many mistakes. Many frustrations. But still working on it. o/
Thanks for your response. Perhaps you could elaborate? My main modification is adding "planet" to weapons that are "space only". Every time there is a major update, I have to search out and change them again. How is this different?
Changes to weapons are made in the config files (main "content" or "mods" folders), while changes to the crosshair are made in \Scenarios\Default Random\SharedData\Content\Bundles\crosshairs and this path is not affected by updates. I have the same modded crosshairs since that time when I provided you with some custom ones.
Today I finally finished the ground poi construction set to go with the space set https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2735672625
You know, when I see a construction set like this I wonder if it would be possible to use it to procedurally generate POI's.
i have no idea how that would work, but if possible it would mean making the buildings complete with deco, spawners and loot
Yesterday and the day before and the day bef... died! It's not that I died that's interesting here, more the way that I died! Several times I fell through a hole in the terrain where a 'chunk' was missing (yes, water table underneath... a bit like Skyrim land tears) I'd fall through and plummet towards the water thinking (the first time) "damn, no helmet" But then teleported back above land... "uh oh" this is gonna hurt, Umphhh, OK, broken leg and 96 health... pfff I've had less, quickly apply bandage (I have two) but, man that spider is persistent... "hobble faster dammit", two more spiders block my way, time to exercise my jumping skills and leap over it to safety... ah! my low hop was easily blocked by the cunning spider simply staying there... died Later a new guy (that becomes me) at night in the forest again before I get a suit, had a full pack of wonderful things and nowhere to put a new lovely thing so ate a leaf to make a space, everything went Blue... a crooked face icon appeared and something bit/clawed/chewed/spat at me! I continued to press 'run' but had no idea of it's effectiveness in the complete and total blueness, I saw other icons appear and watched the health, stamina and the food bar quickly drop to zero... Hmmm! interesting, but, not being a doctor I knew nothing of the symbols... so I start another. One thing (among many) that I find strange it I have to CAD (ctrl, alt, del) out of the game to start a completely new start* as there is no 'back to mainscreen option' at the 'died screen' *By completely new start I mean change of scenario/planet game mode etc Either way... still planet bound and loving it.
