In Windows 10, there are grafic settings in the Display Settings > Grafic Settings (choice at the very end of the page). The settings are (I translate freely because my OS is in German): Hardware-accelerated GPU planing (Off) I cannot remember to have ever changed this entry, but on my system it's OFF. Has this any influence on FPS or performance in the game? Thanks,
Thank you Kassonnade for catching this link, very appreciated. In substance it says that it's a feature for future implementations to come but currently it should not have any adverse effects - and therefore, if I understand the logic in it, it should neither have any beneficial effect at its current state, in short, I'll better leave it OFF as is and forget about.
If you dig into this a bit deeper, there is a potential drawback - namely input latency. Press a key, any key, wait, oh, there's the result. While this may not be obvious to everyone, your hardware architecture will make a great deal of difference. If you already have a CPU bottleneck, odds are this will make it even more notable. If you don't, you may or may not notice any difference. From my end of things, I have seen some instances where this setting being enabled has caused some issues in non-gaming applications, such as Autodesk Revit, IronCAD, DaVinci Resolve, CrystalReports, and some intra-operational Office documents, such as highly complex Excel workbooks using external data from Access databases with complex charting and graphing. Might work out for you, might not, might make no difference whatsoever. Just be sure to make a note for yourself if you enable it, in the event it does create other, unforeseen issues elsewhere - so you know to turn it off and try again.
