I posted yesterday in another thread about the Tash logs not updating, but that was literally right before you guys updated to EXP 2. So I started over again today, and this time the logs failed to update much quicker. Once more, starting on Akua. I've only picked up 3 so far. One from the Science Camp at the obelisk which worked. The second one next to the Font of Knowledge, which also worked. The third one I just picked up at the Dig Site Terminus has failed though. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think it may be related to telling the game to stop telling me how it's going to archive things and where to find those in the PDA. I did that after picking up the second one. Thinking about it, that's probably what happened with the ones from last night too. I eventually told the game to stop informing me about that and I think that may be when picking up the logs stopped updating the quest and removing them from inventory. Don't know if it helps, but I've attached a save standing in the Dig Site Terminus just after picking up the 3rd log.
I also noted this.... worked for me fine on my first run through on Akua, but I started on swamp World (can't remember name) and it just stopped updating or responding. Then strangely started working again when I was digging ores (got several backlogs in the story all at once) then stopped updating again. Now you mention it, on my second playthrough I had also asked it to not repeat things so I wonder if that is causing problems like you thought?
I am currently looking into this issue. Strange thing that never happend in the past before EXP Will update you on the issue and maybe send you an updated version end of week or so. Thx for your patience!
I am receiving the same issue as well it only updates the first two logs once you get the third it doesn't update at all. I'm really looking forward to this new mission chain too. It happened on exp 1 as well but it only updated to 15 when I got the last log it didn't update. Spoiler I'm hoping this mission chain leads to opening the gateway at the base of the obelisk eventually.]
I've got a nice collection of logs from Akua and the snow planet. Hummel let me know if you want any files. Happy to make a new save and supply with any testing. Still new to this game but really enjoying it!!
Just wanted to confirm that as of EXP 2 only the first 2 logs work. After that, all the others are failing to trigger their text and the items remain in the inventory. It also doesn't matter whether or not I tell it to stop reminding me about where to read the logs anymore.
No need for files at the moment - I think I found the issue - should be fixed in EXP3 next week. While we are here .. how do you like the content of the logs (and the micro story they try to tell)?
I think it's a nice addition and actually don't want to progress really into the full story without finishing the logs first!
I'm really liking the new story line it's building, and more generally I'm liking the new start system quite a bit. It feels like it's encouraging the approach of salvaging and/or taking locations over vs total reliance on the factory system. This is more or less the kind of play style I prefer so it's a welcome change in direction for me.
