Are the Scrapper Drones supposed to yield any resources when destroyed? I'd initially ignored them as they're non-hostile, but in the interests of testing I just shot one and it didn't yield anything. Additionally, it was hovering over the landscape when killed but didn't fall down to the ground upon death.

I like these Drone well enough for a bit of background flavour, but it would be cool if they yielded some loot, plus were perhaps "protective" of certain wrecks for example. I suspect there's more to come with these...

They carry a bit of spare parts, coolant and optronics. No materials directly (will not add ore, though).

Hmm, not found anything on them yet and their corpse isn't a container like a regular NPC. Do you mean they can be looted when alive? I had no interaction option when I tried tapping "f" while looking at them.

Edit: I see what the problem is... Looking at the corpse does nothing, however, if I look above the corpse the cursor changes and I can loot.

They have an a bit off set hit- and Loot Box. More at their Limbs/Arms than their Body. I looted those stuff Types from them that @Hummel-o-War stated.

I like the idea behind the butterflies, but the constant *bling* as they bandage me when I am undamaged and that they block sleeping because they are considered enemies is really annoying.

Thanks, though I guess you missed my edit on the subject :)

It's an odd choice of loot they have. At this game-stage for me, these trade items aren't really useful, a few computers, electronics etc. would be VERY useful however. Still, on the barren start planet of Skillon - my starting choice this time - there is a fair amount of salvage to be had.

Edit: some extra details. If I killed a Drone and they didn't fall, I could not loot them from below. I had to jet pack above them to get the cursor. If they fell down to the ground on death, I could then just look over their heads to loot.

Oh, anyone else wanna be able to deploy these guys I repair / break down things? That'd be cool.

This Skillon start has actually be quite fun, though I did almost suffocate as I underestimated my O2 drain. Standing completely still, I was waiting for stuff to craft, I was losing one unit of O2 ever four seconds. That seems excessive! Should O2 drain vary based on activity? I.e. running consumes more O2 as does stamina recovery. I had to resort to the "holding my breath"* trick while I was waiting for an O2 Generator to craft and then give the first O2 bottle. Never been that close to suffocation before, I had five units of O2 left when I finally topped up.

    * The "trick", such as it is, is to take off the helmet until you start to suffocate then pop it back on, take a breath (I usually wait a couple of seconds) then remove the helmet again. This allows me to control my O2 consumption for those last few breaths.

I like the Scrappers. Only ones I have encountered so far.
I think they are cute zipping around.

I have encountered a larger assortment of NPC's around Opportunity zone than I did trying it when the radiation was impossible to enjoy at all. :p
Dino, ' troll ' and of course.. Scrappers.

    :)

I notice the mosquitos are dropping toxic liquid. A commodity worth 2500 credits might be a bit rich for such a weak enemy.

The fairy butterflies that heal you are cute but it's annoying seeing "applied bandages" every second while I'm trying to build a base.

Had several encounters with Mosquitoes in Exp III, here's some feedback.

They appear to be able to clip through anything and everything, they were regularly phasing through my HV, I assume to try to get to me. They should be stopped by solid objects.

They often seem to vanish / not be rendered. I can hear the buzzing noise but they're not there. I suspect this might be linked to the above, and they've actually clipped into something. Don't know for sure though.

They can hit the player, causing the status effect, when not visible. I've been in external view, looking at my character from above and there's nothing visible.

Not directly related to this new critter, however, the lack of accurate positional sound makes finding these even harder, even when they are rendered. I may hear them to my left for example, but that's not where they are. This is true of pretty much all sounds in the game though, so I assume it's a much more involved issue to address.

Tiny critters like this should be able to be run over...well, splatted on the front of my HV when I ram them at speed.

I just observed that these critters don't actually fly in the conventional sense. I just heard footsteps as one approached me - it was the only critter around, and I was standing still - before it fell down a hole I'd dug. It now appears stuck.

Regarding sound (again) the effect is good, but it also is a "buzzing around" type effect, which still plays when the critter is stationary. For this really to work well, the sound needs to be the constant high-pitched drone characteristic of the Mosquito, perhaps deeper as it's a monster bug-wise. Also, the positioning of sound as it buzzes around, and the dopler effect of it's movement would be key. I suspect I'm being overly exacting here lol.

I just spent far too long chasing this rare Ninguan Walking Fish (with impressively loud footsteps) across the Ninguan plains ;)

Lol, thanks. I admit, I feel the same about pretty much everything that gets in the way of a vessel travelling at speed. Also, it'd be good if critters in general were a bit more reactive to vessels...I mean, I can land a multi-megatonne CV right on top of a herd of "skittish" critters and they're don't bat an eyelid. I exit said ship and then they're spooked lol.

I do love to see more wildlife in the game. That combined with the much improved flora makes for a better experience.

Mosquitos... are rather realistic. They are loud, annoying, and incredibly hard to swat... :p

...and the size of a large Cat while being able to phase through solid objects... no, wait, that's not at all realistic..well, for Earth at least.

I like that they can be a total pest, that's cool, but (especially considering their "special" abilities) we need some sort of craftable counter. Howe above a bug repellent that does exactly that? They won't approach the player while the status effect is active.

It would be cool to have other counters of this type to repel many of the "dumb" critters in the game. Nocturnal critters not liking light shone at them (torch better than suit light) for example. Other's being scared off by loud noises, no need to actually kill them, but maybe they super-agro if actually hurt. You get the idea.
