Hi, The new introduced mosquito on the swamp planets in V1.8 is quite annoying. Of course I don't speak of the existence of the mosquito itself, but of the fact that it paralyses you no matter if you are naked of wearing a light/medium/heavy/epic armor..... Unless it is a zirax bio weapon with a titanium enforced succion needle, it shouldn't be eanble of annoying you if you are wearing a armor, and let's say with the helmet on your head if you are a survival purist !
I'd also like to add that mosquitos are pure aural torture - I absolutely hate their grating idle sound effect that plays every few seconds and potentially overlaps with itself that you can hear from way too far a distance.
Don't forget the footstep sounds the mosquito and butterfly make as well. They fly.....Why are they making constant footstep sounds? This isn't just an annoyance, this actually screws with the survival because you can't tell the difference between a flying creature and a real hostile enemy sneaking up on you. No, it doesn't make it more interesting or anything like that. It is just wrong in my opinion.
Perhaps Eleon should add a warning about your suit integrity being compromised... "WARNING. Do not use this suit in a vacuum if you've been bitten by a mosquito" Unless of course the mosquito has magic suit sealing proboscis!
I'm guessing these are very much still WIP, judging by the various things observed (and reported) during the Experimental phase when these were introduced. On top of what's already been mentioned, they're also able to clip through objects, I've had them fly right through a vessel I've been using to get to me. Also, as a tie-in with the footstep noises, they DO actually walk around in invisible legs it seems as they'll fall down holes like any other ground-based critter or NPC. Indeed, I was mining using the Drone during the Experimental, and they were falling down that hole and unable to get out. Linked to that, while they appear to freely clip through vessels and terrain deco, they cannot do the same through actual terrain. So, the hole I'd dug kept them trapped there. It's great to have new critters, but I do feel these guys aren't quite finished yet. I guess that's why they're only on one of the starting planets? I certainly didn't see any elsewhere, but then it's not like I explored the entire game universe lol.
It's a bit of a puzzler why they did this change? I'm just getting back into the game again after a year of having such a potato graphics card... and I love a lot of the changes, but some of them are just "beta" quality. Less experiment and more QOL please
