For 1.8.10 we added four new "features" regarding the Creative possibilities:

Feel free to give your feedback in general or by referring to a topic number:
    1. Thruster ‘flames’ can now be colored via the color & texture tool. To do this first select a color then aim the color & texture tool at the flame of the thruster to change the color independently from the rest of the thruster block.
    2. Holographic deco blocks can now have the holo display color changed
    3. Now you can select texture/color with CTRL-RMB when pointing at a block.
    4. CTRL-RMB also now copies the block attributes if the current slot has a stack of blocks. In Creative Mode the block type is also copied

Ctrl+Right click is such a nice addition :) Works really well and is a very cool time saver.

Setting RIGHT CONTROL as CONTROL modifier, to allow LEFT CONTROL as Primary/Secondary for CROUCH, breaks the following functions:

RIGHT CONTROL + RMB = Does not copy block/texture, just acts as a simple RMB click.
RIGHT CONTROL + W/A/S/D/SPACE/C = Cruise Control does not engage. Nothing happens.

After reverting CONTROL modifier back to LEFT CONTROL, issues still are present. Restarting client after changing back, does not fix either. User MUST completely reset all keybindings to default, to resolve issue of CONTROL modifier binding not working properly.

Hope this gets sorted out. LEFT CTRL has been the industry standard for crouching/holding a crouched position in-game for decades due to ability to crouch and use WASD on one hand, this cannot be done with a default binding of C.

That's worth a bug report / feature request.

I also have crouch binded to Ctrl. That means, when flying a vessel it will get stuck on going down with Crtl, as it acts as an access modifier and sometimes does not trigger button unpressed. So on a vessel I have to use "C" button binded as an alternative.
Even though when using cruise control (Crtl + W) the ship would sometimes cruise forward and down

As for industry standard, there are different games. I'm also used to Ctrl as crouch that is to be hold down to work.
Some games use a sticky crouch. That means you press "C" once to crouch, release it and use WASD to move while crouched. If you want to stand up, you press "C" once again. I guess this is how Empyrion is supposed to be played.

I'm aware of the "Toggle" forms of sprint or crouching. And I'll admit my bias, I have been raised on LEFT CTRL being crouch, and I prefer it not to be a "Toggle" but to be held down. But your situation sounds just as frustrating as mine.
