Generally 'ships that stay in space' in most shows, novels and the like, don't have camo other than cloaking devices that mirror/shimmer their visual presence among the stars. However adversly, 'drop ships' that go to planets or moons tend to have some form of visual likeness to its designated terrain, much like those drop ships in Starship Troopers (sandly coloring) and the drop ship shuttle in Alien/Aliens which was very modern-day military looking (kind of not so future, but that was the style of those movies). Visual camo is usually just a last resort paint job I see for future stuff. In case the power gos out and they cannot use their super-awesome-cloaking-devices
Ya like the military that sent soldiers to the Gulf War with green camouflage. That was soooo bad. BTW don't mined me. I'm trying to stay with a theme here. Look how much has changed in the last 100 years. Add 400 years to that.
Yeah, but us Humans don't exactly excel at Imagination. We'd probably be lucky to have today concepts 'futurized' to try to pass as something run 400 years forward of what our current Brains can cook up, like if the Devs tried developing Camo that works better & more efficiently using Future Tech like Nanites to make Nanite powered Camo.
Its amazing though, how things DO progress (in reality). I mean, if you look back just 15 years, or even 10 at movie's depictions of what they figured technology would be like in the near/distant future... and you LAUGH. Like, heck, the original Star Trek show and all its HIGH TECH PUSH-BUTTONS! LOL! Some good stuff. Almost like us 3d beings trying to perceive the 4th dim. Its hard. Just need to pick a theme and stick with a style. Eleon are kind of in charge of that style they want to follow. Much like how JJ Abrams, or Ridley... its all in the eye of the creator.
PS: did we go off topic? I think what @piddlefoot was originally showing, was just how much more creative and varied you can be with the upcoming alpha changes. Whether you wanna camo-up your ride... or just make silly stripes or polka dots!
Agreed. On topic now. I'm sorta into a gun metal finish on most everything. Again I never see rainbow Brite coloured Space ships or Star bases and such haha lol
I'm SO looking forward to having more shades of Blue to work with Post-Alpha, so I won't have just Solid Blue for a Color Choice for myself. (Which'll ESPECIALLY come in handy on my future Red Vs Blue Server Play as Solid Blue is Dibs'd by the Blue Team, so I, as a GMT, will need those other Shades of Blue to differentiate myself from them, & who knows? I might try throwing in dashes of Grey & Orange here & there... maybe... )
