No, that would not be possible. EAH and the DedicatedServer are 2 complete different things. The DedicatedServer is developed by us, where EAH is developed by Jascha for us. We only deliver it with the game
EAH stores his config in the EAH folder. But we cannot change how the game saves his settings (and it would not make much sence). So EAH just refers to this ONE Game setting file to get all the information about game settings and locations. Not so difficult.
Not difficult, but a waste of space if it still needs one full 16Gb copy of the whole server for every save, unless it's possible to start EAHelper with a commandline to let it know what dedicated_EAH.yaml to use?
Not sure what you are talking about. You can set up multiple EAHs and tell each one which save to use. No need for multiple Empyrion Servers to be installed. Just tell each EAH to work on ONE specific dedicated.yaml. And you can run as many servers as your machine can handle
How do I do that? It's what I have been trying to do all time now, the only options in EAH is a dropdownlist with dedicated.yaml and Dedicated_EAH.yaml
As I said. Just set the second EAH to a different dedicated.yaml. To prevent EAH to read data from the old save (in case you copy the whole EAH folder with all the configs), set up the second EAH from scratch and select the correct dedicated.yaml from the beginning.
Right. Figured it out. Copy the Dedicated_EAH.yaml to whatever.yaml in the servers root before launching EAH allows the EAH to select the whatever.yaml and thus it's own config. Now it works as expected.
Keep seeing these errors showing up when the backup is running. Not really sure what would cause it. Code: Error: System.IO.IOException: The file 'D:\servers\Empyrion\DedicatedServer\EmpyrionAdminHelper\Backup\230821035601\Settings.XML' already exists. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.File.InternalCopy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite, Boolean checkHost) at EmpAdminHelper.DataStore.Sicherung_Anlegen(String ToPfad, Boolean SaveBefore, Boolean Upload): Further Infos: Error while creating backup of DataStore - It occurs every Monday when we are running the backup. I have the server stop set for 03:54, and the backup set for 03:56. The error occurs at 03:56.
Hey, make the backup in the SubAction of the restart. or set your backup a little later. EAH also makes a backup of the database at the exact same time I gues. But nothing to worry about.
Thanks, that's a good idea. I should have thought of that when I was re-doing all of the timetables a couple months ago. LOL. Yeah, the file was always there, so I didn't worry about it too much. The error did make me concerned it might cause an issue somewhere else though.
Hi, we've some sort of problem getting EAH Full working: Our Dedicated Server is hosted via Nitrado (we know already that there are avrious problems getting EAH work), basically EAH lite works, we can see our Players, Write chat messages etc. Theres also a Folder on our FTP called Empyrion Admin Helper (which comes with Nitrado), but theres not an option on our Nitrado Backend to configure or start EAH on our Dedicated Server (we really looking forward to get it running, due to the automated options, Warnings, and Chat Messages). Nitrado wont help us, we wont also get a any Syync Ip, Sync port, or starter port from Nitrado. Maybe theres someone who could help us, thanks in advance.
Full EAH Version will not work with Nitrado The hoster needs to add support for this and Nitrado will not do this
DAMN! Thanks a million four answer @Taelyn , could you recommend a Serverhoster with Support for EAH Full (Germany), thanks in Advance
Hi All, new to the forum! I just downloaded EAH full and got it set up and my server shows up properly. Previously I was using Game Server Manager but decided to try this one since it is more robust in comparison. The issue I am having is when I connect to my server, it does not load the existing game save that I have in my Saves Folder (saved just a little while ago), it brings me to selecting the starting planet, basically a new game. My save is not old and I'm sure I am doing something wrong so any help would be appreciated. Basically I do not want to start a new game I want to use the existing save but can not figure out what i need to do to get EAH to recognize it
You need to point it to the SaveGame in the dedicated.yaml GameConfig: GameName: DediGame # Determines name of the save game Change this to your existing Save Game
When I start EAH (Not the EGS server, just the EAH), I get this error in the latest warnings window and logs: 9/9/2024 9:05:40 PM Attention, the playerfile-version has changed. EAH might need an update. Current File Version: Header 33 - File 45 9/9/2024 9:05:41 PM Error: YamlDotNet.Core.YamlException: (Line: 1, Col: 1, Idx: 0) - (Line: 1, Col: 1, Idx: 0): Expected 'SequenceStart', got 'MappingStart' (at Line: 1, Col: 1, Idx: 0). (I'm using EAH version 1.61.5.0 Full). The Sector.yaml file starts with this: GalaxyMode: true Sectors: [] SolarSystems: - Name: Alpha Coordinates: - 190 - 15 - 50 Same error if the first line is '---' or not... Online Yamlint shows the Sector.yaml file is valid with strict mode on. Any ideas ? Thank you in advance!!
