    Hi Guys,
I'm gonna say that I recon I already know the answer but I ask anyway... you never really know!

I'm making a big ol' spacebase, ring type, and I want it to rotate... slowly, I'm wondering if there's a mechanic already in place to do this, or would putting 4 perhaps 8 very weak engines around it and a leaver/switch to set them all going at the same time so it rotates around it's center, it would only be on whilst occupied, the rotation would look cool from inside.

The station is normal way up, not a doughnut where you would walk ever upwards.

    Bases cannot move.
If you build it as a CV then yes it could rotate, but obviously that would also mean you'd have to pilot it and hold down one of the roll keys to keep it rotating. Not really what you're looking for.

Yeah, thanks, I figured as much, I guess we'll just have to look at the sun all the time... lol

put the space station base that is not rotating into an empty system in which the sun is set to be revolving around it at higher frequency

I'd rather put a few engines for attitude control while stationary than have the sun go round the world... that thinking was lost several centuries ago.
However, if it wasn't something that the devs considered decade ago it's likely far too late to do now, and sometimes workarounds just cause their own issues.
