Recently when selecting 'Load' Steam has been telling me that several game (playthroughs) are not supported and I should delete the saves... I initially did this, and was a bit peeved because there were builds that were unfinished and only saved in the game, Now I just say "freck you" and exit the game and relaunch Empyrion and everything is fine with no complaints... Just what is going on? why are we (me at least) being told to junk hours of work/gameplay through a glitch that issues wrong warnings. Does anybody else had/have this problem?
Every Tuesday to Wednesday Night (CET), Steam has Maintenance. This means Steam does not work, and neither does the game. It cant get the data from the workshop so it says "game corrupted, delete it" Same happens when steam has issue and loses the connection Just wait a few hours and try again
Thanks for the quick response Taelyn, so it's likely just a steam problem, annoyingly, I didn't understand when it happened the first time and I dutifully deleted a handfull of saves. Now I know what the problem is I can 'not delete' with confidence
Since this happens a lot with workshop scenarios, can this message be updated to mention something about if it's a workshop scenario it may just be a connection or Steam issue? People are being told to delete their save games, and thus deleting them when they don't have to.
That was, and I suppose is my issue, but it seems to be a steam overlay that carries the warning* with only an 'OK' as a clickable button, if it could be re-worded and or an explanation that it might only be a temporary thing, then that would be helpful, personally I understand and ignore it now, but others (new players) might just throw a 'screaming wobbly fit' and curse the day they bought the game. * It looks that way to me anyway
We cant, Steam does not provide a way to check for maintenance. The message is generic and if we update it to refelect this in other area's it will make no sence anymore Since steam maintenace happens every week at the exact same day and time its easy to know if its corrupted or simply wait a few hours for steam to finish
Could just add something like "if this save game uses a workshop scenario it may be a Steam issue that will resolve on its own" or something like that. In my opinion it's better to cover both bases so people don't delete save games and lose all their hard work. Most people won't know about this, and will follow the message and delete it before they seek help from an outside source (for example, the OP of this thread).
